I'm good.  I've barricaded and bolted the front door. Two sets of mechanical alarms on the windows (and with duct tape). and I've got myself a good year's supply of cream of wheat.  tongue

gjnfgjfg!
I am soo frustrated!
Why can I NOT get help with my frog?  I will not be in a good mood if this girl dies because people don't care about frogs. I fucking care, so if I am calling your vet clinic to ask for treatment for my frog, don't fucking laugh at me

*hug* girl, go to the hospitals that are further away. Sign up for a care credit card to cover the payment, i know the VCA hospital will have it. it's a card specifically for vet and other pet expenses

I understand that even with pet care, the likelyhood of this frog making it is slim.
It is hard to pay $70 for no guarantee it can help.  I make so little a week it is ridiculous.

Fuck, I will probably end up doing it. I just wish there was an organization that could help me, understand this

I understand that, no doubt. And even if the froggy doesn't make it, you did what you could. The point is to just give them that little nudge and that extra love if you can. And you did everything you could and gave froggy the love it deserves before the froggy goes. Plus, what if they make it? wink I think I spent about 1500 (that i didn't have at all) on my guinea pig. I think the care credit payment on something that's only $70 would be about 5 or 10 a month.  Though if you're going to take them, you need to get him/her there ASAP.

I am going to see what I can do.
I don't know if a credit card is in my future, but I have $75 in the bank which I can pull and see if a family member will borrow me money until I can pay them back, for the tests.

There goes my vacation fund

I don't know about medical care, but have you thought of
going to your nearest university with an ecology department
that studies amphibians? here in san diego I met this guy who is
studying them ... it might not help ... it might ...
can you do a web search for amphibian specialists
in universities nearby?
hope this helps ...

Yeah, just the checkup
$15-30 for tests (usually fecal exam, but he hasn't gone to the bathroom yet, so I don't know what they are going to do)
and $15-30 for whatever meds/antibiotics/parasite meds she may need

perhaps ask him to do a quick online lit review to see if there's anything new or unknown until now? it might not help, but hopefully it won't hurt?
just a thought ...

Thanks for anyone who has offered me money, but I do not feel right taking money from a stranger. I am just kinda ranting here to get my frustration out over the situation.

actually, all things considered compared to what my piggy was, that's pretty decently priced! Why not go get her just checked up first, and if her out look isn't so good, then don't do the treatment. Only have her get the medication if you're sure she can potentially be saved

But the difference between the price you pay for a frog and a guinea pig is different

I know how you feel. I just get a bit anxious when someone needs help like this. Karma always pays me back.

But, feel free to vent all you need to here.

And you're probably right...there's probably no one stranger than me.

She won't eat and is soo thin I am afraid she won't make it much longer without eating.
She hasn't gone to the bathroom either (which means she didn't eat anytime soon, prior to me getting her)

I also have another contact. I know a guy who owns a pet store, I told him what is going on and he is going to speak to a breeder he knows to see if there is some sort of treatment I can start her on.
I was thinking of starting her on the Chytrid treatment, just in case (since she is probably wild-caught), but I don't think she could handle the treatment at this point if it is not necessary
