Personally, I think it's too busy. There's too much going on and it makes my brain tired trying to sort it all out. But that's just me. I like the indavidual components tho. Just together, it's confusing. big_smile

To me the girl doesn't "fit"  the background somehow.  Nice overlay work though.

Didn't get many views on here. I double trucked it for my portfolio (pretty impressive at 22"x16") -

One of the things I dig about this photo is that it is a composite of 2 different images.

You can't tell, because I rule at Photoshop. wink

enough views but no comments.... usually I would figure that people just don't know what to say about it. No reaction here, but plenty elsewhere.

I think this image would have done fine on any one elses port, but since it is so regular, I don't think people think much of it.

Ravens,

I think you are underappreciated in general. I really love your work (and your posts), and I know I haven't told you in a long time.

Ok before someone flames you for not reading the FAQs (which still didn't help me get it completely straight).   The "formula" is

Your image address though is not the page address.  it is the image address itself.  Try right clickinig on the image itself and will have something like Copy Image Address.

I just used the spaces so that the code would show up. Yours seemed to show up, but if I didn't use space, mine didn't show up. Maybe if you don't have http: it shows the code?

One of my faves because it turned out completely different than i thought it would.  Painted canvas is totally different than unpainted wronkled sheets.

OK, so I'm the art critic of the moment.  I think this is one of your better ones.  The background really works for me and the light you have on it.  I need to do something different like that.

I think the main thing that distracts from the entire image or doesn't work with in it, is the model.

The colors and the design layout are beautfiul.  I love the image with out the model.  As far as the model, it is her placement and lack of connection to the photo.

I think it would work better if you photographed the model in a way that brought her into this mystical world you've created.  Not up front and closer but with-in the image...That way you see her but she's not overpowering and taking away from the rest of the illustration.  the look on her face doesn't work with the rest of it either.

Just a thought.

The rest of the illustration is beautiful.

You are right.  The model was an afterthought, not planned.  I wish I could claim credit for the artwork itself.  That is from a friend of mine, Jay Brooks.  Liked it so much I asked him if I could try using.  I should go back to the drawing board and redo it.  The model's expression evokes a sense of wonder, at least to me, and I thought it fit.

I love that you are working with your friend that is a graphic artist.  I had a chance to do that with someone I know.  I gave her my image and she did the artwork...Great colaboration...I look forward to seeing any changes you make.

I'll make a negative comment secure in the knowledge that the rest of your work is so good it won't matter.  I actually think this is my least favorite of all of the ones you have up.  The silver "highlights" are nice but as a whole it just doesn't jump out.  In my port it would look great but you have too many other better ones.

First off, most people will not comment on something that is horizontal (horizontal images show up too small on MM). That's why I've been putting those type of shots on my profile page instead.

I think a great composite comes from great components. The shot of the model doesn't appear to be photographed with the intent of interacting with the background in any way. She just appears to be pasted on a semi-transparent layer over an existing finished artwork.

Some of your other shots are much stronger!

I thought I recognized your tag.  You were right Yulianna is a great model and just a nice person to work with.  You are also right about the picture.  Hadn't thought about the horizontal aspect except that it does make a small avatar.  Thanks.
