...I say the second.

You keep saying that you are asking for advice, but like many attention whores we've seen around here, you aren't honestly listening to the advice being given.  See, it would be one thing for you to say "Why can't I get paid non nude work?"  And then accept what's being told to you by people who know their shit.  Instead, you are cherry picking what you like from those who are telling you exactly what you want to hear.  This thread has 5 pages and you still haven't gotten the point.

...I say the first.

you're comfortable having photographs taken of you wearing clothing. initially are you comfortable with the thought of there being photographs of you naked? if you ever, even for 1 second, rethink it you probably shouldN'T do it. when the photos are taken, it’s forever.

(unless of course all the copies are destroyed. but yeah)

As far as the subject of this thread.....  I think that any Photographer or any Agency has the right to contact a model and ask them if they would be interested in a certain type of shoot, promotion, look, etc.  I also think the model has the right to turn down the offer and not be judged for it.  There are so many Models and Photographers out there, anyone is bound to find someone that is willing to work with them.  If a model does not want to pose nude she should not feel bad or guilty about her decision.

I would never condone n e 1 doing nude. its tasteless and its permanent. dont do n e thing thats permanent 2 u'r reputation. think of your family and friends, future and present. take the road less traveled, less forced, and go wth your gut, which says no.

Good Luck, You'll make the right choice whichever you decide

I like what you have to say. Thank you for the advice. I'm not doing anything nude.

No offence to the OP, but she needs to drop the exaggerations (i.e. everyone wants me to do this... been approached by magazines) and get herself a bit of a reality check.

People here are trying to give her the benefit of their experience, and like countless before her who ask loaded questions and listen only for the answers they want, she's just not tuning in to what she needs to.

Further - she needs to concentrate on her portfolio and stop shooting outdoors for a while. Nothing wrong with outdoors, but she needs some strong structured shoots indoors with a photographer who knows what they are doing in the studio with strobes and an MUA.

If she really wants to see how far she can go with fashion, she needs to start working on creating herself in that image.

yep yep, if the idea of people you know seeing them makes you think... DON'T DO IT.

for example: i model lingerie. i love it so much and people i know who disagree with my decision just confuse me because i see nothing wrong with it. i don't blink an eye. and i've never felt uncomfortable with anyone i know or don't know seeing it.

Aw, good for you.

Yeah I have no problem with bathing suits or lingerie..

a bra and underwear basically is a swimsuit.

Your work is beautiful and the lingerie photos are very tastefully done.  Outstanding work!

Obviously not. It's been shown to you that not only is this photographer who told you that he could get you into Playboy lying, but doing so badly. You've been told how it really works, and given text written by an actual staff member of PEI so that you don't have to take anyone's word for it.

You have, to date, ignored this.

If you only take advice with which you agree, what good is advice? You've already made up your mind.

Furthermore, you've pretty-much ensured that no photographer here on Model Mayhem with whom it is of any value to collaborate is going to want to work with you. If your intent was to draw attention to yourself, you've done an excellent job - in the negative.

I will no longer comment in this thread. You've made it very apparent that you just don't care.

Best of luck to you, and I mean that most sincerely.

If you knew the answer well enough to be able to realistically determine which advice is good, you didn't need to ask. Since you did ask, and have rejected a lot of good advice, it's apparent you cannot identify which advice is good or not--meaning you've only listened to what you wanted to hear.

Melissa seems to have nailed it.

It is natural for normal men to want to see beautiful women naked.

Aside from that, there's only three pieces of advice I think I could give anyone, about anything:

1) Always think for yourself.

2) Never surrender your will without reason.

3) You can do anything you want, as long as you are willing to stand the responsibility.

I'm in, but as soon as I take off my clothes everyone will either go blind or insane. I guess I shouldn't go after all...
