Cecil, I think you're probably not that wierd.  For instance, seeing a guy take out my trash, vacuum the house and ... GASP!  Paint the barn.. *biting lip*...well, THAT does it for me.  Otherwise.... same ole same ole... wink

Maybe i've been to much of a smart ass in other threads, but i think since i was being serious this deserves a little more explanation.

I can photograph a nude woman  several times, doing several things.  It doesn't excite me.  I've shot on and off for over 10 years.   I've been a bartender at a nudie bar.
Seeing a woman jiggle, or pose nude just doesn't do it for me.

Again i'm wierd.

Seeing a woman in the kitchen.  Oh my!!

Well, do it a couple of hundred times and you get pretty jaded, especially when you're trying to keep track of a lot of technical details.

I've had almost the exact thing happen before.  One asked "Are you married" just before.

You never once stop to enjoy the scenery? Say when changing the memory card or somethin?  Maybe you don't get turned on, I'm just saying it's hard to believe.

I had this happen once. Only she didn`t go anywhere  but did it right there. It was her first time doing nudes. I kinda took it as a compliment that she felt so comfortable, lol.

I once had a girl friend that was always doing that. After sex, before a shower, while watching TV, no warning, just would do it. She liked being looked at. Strange girl but lots of fun.

Girlfriend is one thing, but a model you just worked with for the first time and 45 minutes into the shoot shes goin at herself is another...

My friend told me that HOT Lights (the lights that stay on rather than FLASH) have that effect on women.
I'm not sure if this is true or not, but while flashes are better, im considering investing in Hot lights now lol.  JK :p

Maybe you can confirm this, or deny it.

When being shot with strobe flashes does it have the same effect?
I thought it might just be due to the attention and flattery of being infront of the camera and photographer.

HAHA THATS CLASSIC

But In My Opinion I Think Photography Can Be Very Orgasmic  Especially If Both Are Having A Great Time And The Chemistry Is There For Good Pictures Id Have To Say though After Having A Good Day Of Shooting And Or Just Finding The Perfect Shot Its Very Orgasmic And Pleasureable Ive Always Compared A Good Shot Or Session To An Orgasm Its Good Stuff Doesnt Necessarily Even Have To Be Sexual In Nature Just Good Chemistry & Good Pictures - Keith

Yes a stranger I understand. She was there for nudes or sexy shots? Like I said earlier, exhibitionist, feeding sexual desires, creating sexual drama, even if in front of a stranger.
A reason for everything.

how about, uhm,..., the male surgeon? or OB/GYN? no, rather, they've simply turned their mental focus to just doing a job. for some, yes, it's just work & all emotional content is either minimalized or removed.

(n.b., not quite the same for an actor/actress who has learned to take that same energy/response & channel it into his/her work; much like how a singer puts it in his/her music)

Don't be surprised if the male OB/GYN has his favorite patients that he looks forward to seeing.

Well, I'm also one of those people where if I'm trying to solve a problem you can walk up behind me and say my name for couple of minutes and I just won't know you're there.  I'm very focused.  Even while changing a memory card I'm thinking about the next bit.

And it's not like my work's exactly erotic: https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pid=296763

...but I will say sometimes I'll be tearing down the studio gear as the model's getting dressed and I'll look up and have a moment of "Holy crap, there's a half dressed beautiful naked woman in my living room!"

That's the perv in us. Anyone shooting sexy, glamour or nude, be it the model or photographer is doing it for a reason. It's a way of channeling sexual impulse in what we believe is a more socially acceptable manner. The turn on is simply a form of exhibition and, the exhibisionist in you is causing the turn on. Even us photogs are getting turned on. Even in all the hide your boob and snatch shots we all really wish we could shoot the spread shot; come on admit it, we may say no spread but we wish we could, we wish we had the guts. Psych 101.

I don't know. Probably posing sexy, all  the attention, the fact that I am usually extremely shy and covered up in my day to day life. When I'm shooting I have an excuse to act like a totally extroverted carefree person. Liberating, I guess.

Thank you for your answer. I was just mildly curious because you see some threads about photographers (mostly males too lol) getting supposedly "aroused" during their shoot so I was just wondering if you were getting turned on by the photographer himself  or like you said turned on by posing sexy and all the attention you were getting. smile

When I am shooting, the model is the most beautiful and desireable woman on the planet and I tell her that as the shoot goes to coax the right expression and mood... I make sure she feels sexy, desireable, appealing, attractive, and pretty much the center of the universe.

That being said, I have had quite a few models tell me that their husband/boyfriend was very lucky when they got home because of how they felt when they left the shoot... and they come back for more shoots after that smile

ahh ... the illustrious side of model-photographer relations; psychology of perception.

curious to note that many of the remarks on this thread were from Americans. have not been [here] all my life & am wondering how my European counterparts would reply. hmm.

still, no one is "right". no one is "wrong". simply all different.

If a photographer is getting turned on by the model while he or she is shooting, that ruins all professional crediblity they may have with me and many other models.  We trust these people to look at us as work, not something to be lusting after.  If this were to change, my whole opinion on bringing escorts would change and I would insist on bringing an escort no matter what.
Thankfully, I've worked with photographers that didn't seem to even notice that I was nude and just shot like it wasn't a big deal and paid attention to lights and imagery more than the fact that I was naked.

You just get a feeling.  There are certain cues.  Art is supposed to be art, not a turn on.  Especially not when shooting.

I personally approach modeling with professionalism, which means, this is a job.  Sure, you're not behind a desk or folding clothes, but it's a job.  If you treat it as such, you're not going to get turned on by it.  Personally, attention doesn't turn me on.  It's flattering, yes, but it doesn't get my panties wet or hankerin' for some.

Not always, not if the photographer is professional about it or is just good at hiding it

No offense but,,,I see a lot of wet look glamour, sexy expressions and such in your portfolio, much different than art.Not that there is anything wrong with that. Just sayin`.
