I have never understood, perhaps I am naieve as to why so very many nude shots are not "Barefoot"  Nudie shoots with long spiked heels look weird, maybe the models need a quick getaway and theres broken glass everywhere..??  Pretty feet can be expressive.

That's your opinion. I don't share it.

heels give women a better posture and makes their rear ends look sexier and their legs longer (even when lying down)

Heels shape the leg and butt in a pleasing way.

And it depends on the genre.

And depending on the kind of shoe, it's just plain sexy. Again, as pointed out above, that's a matter of taste and opinion. I love bare feet in nudes, but I also love expensive, tasteful heels.

Just let it go.  Shoot what you like to shoot and let others shoot what they like to shoot. There's room here for everyone.

Because sometimes the contrast between the natural and the constructed can be part of the allure of an image. I rarely shoot any model completely nude because I love the tension betwen the organic and inorganic elements of that kind of image. The clever construction of footwear, the subtle geometry of stockings can be a wonderful counterpoint to the curves and contours of nature.

I was going to write something but look at the previous posts, they do a nice job.  Heels make legs appear longer, and posture better in a lot of cases.  If you don't like shoes in your nekkid pics don't look at them

Well, if you want to compare shots with and without the heels go to the "Foot Photos" forum under General Mayhem. Hopefully that helps to home in on some answers.

Personally, I think it depends on the the staging of the shot and the mood. I am a big fan of bare feet. On the other hand, I am never adverse to open toe high heel shoes.

Not completely nude...close enough...with shoes:

I think the shoes add, not detract. Shoes and nudity should be a picture by picture ala case by case basis.

It's only my unprofessional photographic opinion, but I've always felt that barefeet are sexier when the model is clothed and when the model is nude, heels enhance the sexiness.

But perhaps that's just my unresolved kinkery speaking...

OP...I am with you on this....I totally understand what everyone sales concerning high heels making the butt and legs look sexy....but in the end it really looks stupid...it just doesnt fit.....small two piece on the beach..in the sand..near the dunes...with heels.....ROFLAMO....maybe the model needs to learn how to pose to give her legs and back a better look rather than taking the easy route with heels....

looking good is one thing
whether or not it fits in the image is a different thing

In ancient China there was a proverb that went something along the lines of ...

"A Beautifully drawn character can be worth more than the Ten Thousand things."

hence the modern saying ....

"A picture is worth a thousand words."

Now I totally don't think that either of these two works are nearly as fancy as either of those two great truths whatsoever ...

But I very much hope that they might shed a lil light to your question ....

They change the mood to a more erotic feel.
They lengthen the appearance of the legs and shorten the achilles tendon making the calf more shapely. Few modern women who spend their days in heels have shapely calves in bare feet.

Totally depends on the style. For my style, shoes of any kind typically don't work. But I'm going for more of the purity of the female form rather than trying to make something erotic.

It really does depend on what you're going for. 90% of my nudes* would be ruined (in my eyes) by the addition of high heels, but more glamour/erotic styled shots make good use of them.

*ones I shoot, not nudes OF me. I can't walk in those things.

It's another device, cliche, what-have-you, as well-loved as it tends to be. And it says usually says "cheap."

I think that because she is wearing a lot of jewelry and evening look eyes, they kind of fit. Also, she didn't take them off. Since I am not a 'guy', I didn't do it to make it more erotic, it started out as a set with her wearing a fur coat, jewelry and heels, and i wanted her to emote sadness in a certain way, to go from standing and clothed in fur to sitting down in sadness, indicating that moneyed didn't necessarily mean happy. But this photo also stands by itself in my opinion. I don't usually do naked with shoe photos, so I seriously wondered if it ruined the photo. In this case, I really don't think so, and while in some ways it is a 'glamour' photo, I hope it expresses more than that.

You can read more into it, I'm not saying that's not there, but the shoes, the style of lighting on seamless and all that give it a quick glamour read.
