I can't work with models like that. They instinctually point their arm straight at the camera...

Tracy Scott Photography wrote: I remember when I was in front of the camera...a long, long time ago, when models revered the photographers and felt lucky to be shot by them. As models, we didn't act so self-important and as if we were doing the photographers a favor - we actually wanted the photographers to grace us with their presence instead of acting as if we were gracing them with ours. What happened to this, I don't know. I believe it is a generational thing. To quote 'The Incredibles' - "When everyone is special, no one is special anymore." I also remember how much easier modeling was than photography. This sort of thing has happened to me too - complainers, self-important wanna-be Paris Hiltons, everyone thinking they are already a star when they haven't even hit the small time. Last minute cancellations on TFCD with no apology, photographer shopping, even friends at the beginning asking to see my work before I shot them, although they knew I was new and didn't have anything, which was the point of my asking them in the first place. I long for the old days. Everything is flipflopped now. Hey don't speak for everyone in this generation! I feel very grateful to photographers that offer to shoot with me! I know that if I'm asked it must mean they see something special & I don't take that for granted, I have a lot of respect for photographers because it is their job to capture art & the chance to be part of that is awesome! I think self-important would def not be a word to describe me cause I know that there are LOTS of models out there & def those that are better than me whom I can learn from & as far as complaining goes if I gotta jump into some water in the middle of a park or something to get the shot the photographer wants, I'll do it...just thought I'd let that out... It's a trend...only a trend, but it is a discernible one...unfortunately. Meagan Andrea wrote:
It also surprises me how some models approach and act towards photographers. I may be new to this myself, but photographers do so much more than just snap a few shots and call it a day. I can't imagine what you guys go through to get that perfect shot and be satisfied with it. It's good to go into this with a modest and humble attitude. Nobody's perfect, I can't stand reading other model's profiles and seeing that they obviously think they are. >.

Awesome Headshots wrote: So Iâve been on MM a whoppân 15-minutes and a model sends me a message saying Welcome and how sheâd like to have some updated headshots done. I wrote back directing her to my Website with prices and a booking calendar. Before I can pull my finger off the send button, she replies back with âIâm a Professional Model, Photographers pay me, I donât pay Photographers, You must supply a Professional Make-up Artist, the Wardrobe and I always bring an escort with meâ. So curiosity pushed me to look at her MM account. She has 3-self camera phone pictures, 2-HS Grad pictures and a link indicating more professional photographs HERE going to a MySpace page packed with GIFâs and ear splitting music. So my question is for you seasoned MMâersâ¦â¦â¦ does it get any better? Could you PM me and others her MM and MS page links? Pretty pretty por favor merci?

I started my MM page 9/06 and was denied because I did not have enough stuff in my "about me" section. Out of sight, out of mind I finally got around to adding a few lines and voila. Sorry for the long delay. If you want to see a picture of me, look in the dictionary under âProcrastinatorâ

Awesome Headshots: I have seen your avatar before on MM in someone else's portfolio and as their avatar a few months back. Edit: Are you sure you are "new" or should I start thinking the other option?

T.H.Taylor Forum Moderator (And Sith Lord) $250 is the low standard pricing for headshots. If they are having no problem getting people to pay them that, more power to them for being a great salesperson.

Thanks to the magic of WHOIS, I know whose sock puppet this is. But I'm not telling. Their name starts with one of the first three letters of the Alphabet, though. I'm not telling which one though, as that could be outing.
