Fly Me (dir. Cirio H. Santiago, 1973). Classic 70s exploitation movie about air stewardesses who get involved in human trafficking in Far East locations, providing a convenient premise for nudity and Kung Fu sequences. With Pat Anderson, Lenore Kasdorf.

This reminds me of some of Jess Franco's work in it's lack of a clear narrative line, much is left to the viewer's imagination.

Korean dramas on Netflix. The acting and scripts can be a bit over the top at times, but these shows are all so beautifully shot. Korean dramas have such amazing cinematography.

The Isle (dir. Ki Duk Kim, 2000) is an impressive Korean movie, a kind of erotic drama with some amazing photography.

"The film has gained notoriety for gruesome scenes that caused some viewers to vomit or faint when the film premiered at the Venice Film Festival."

"Hee-jin looks after Hyun-shik, even saving him from two suicide attempts, the second one accomplished gruesomely by swallowing a string of fish hooks"

"Hee-jin apparently attempts suicide in an effort to stop him by stuffing fish hooks into her vagina and falling into the water. This time it's Hyun-shik's turn to save her, by reeling her in with the still attached hooks."

And if that isn't enough, "There are also numerous scenes involving cruelty to animals, which according to the director Kim Ki-duk, were all real"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Isle

Checks all your boxes, does it - prostitutes, female genital abuse, cruelty to animals, made palatable by "some amazing photography."?

Have you actually seen it? It's much more than a horror movie. I didn't throw up or faint.

I am currently trying to get into horror movies - but alas they are all stupid. My favorite directors are David Lynch, Gaspar Noe, Aronofsky, Michael Haneke, Lars Von trier, and Kubrick so that could be why lol

My sister is trying to get me to waych Yellowstone but I'm not sold yet. Give Hannibal a watch if you haven't seen it. I think it is the greatest series that has ever aired. Yes, even better than Breaking Bad. wink

Unfortunately, the horror genre has exploited abuse of women. Also, a lot of it is schlock.  Having said that,

I have been a horror fan since I saw the original release of "The Curse of Frankenstein" and "Horror of Dracula" both with Peter Cushing, the original "The Fly" with Vincent Price, The House on Haunted Hill", The Tingler", both also with the great Vincent Price, "The Exorcist."... Ok have to stop...too many to list.

As I got older I found the best horror films were not the goriest, but left more to the imagination, which will always exceed what is ever put on screen. As of now, I rate "The Blair Witch Project" and "Paranormal Activity" as the creepiest movies I have ever seen.  I am not kidding. "Yellowjackets" also very creepy.

I resisted "Yellowstone" for a long time, and finally broke down and have to admit, came to really like it. Beautifully photographed on location in Montana, it is a great window into the interplay of native Americans, ranchers, and out-of-state land developers in a very competently written drama which feels very authentic. Modern cowboy culture is also illuminated in a way that is very believable. Politics plays a role, but not oppressively

It's not even about the women thing..they are all just stupid. Like my niece tried to show me this movie about a cult putting people in cages who ate meat at a diner or something? I'm like; uhhh...did PETA make this? I just could not get into it. The new It? Awful. What's that stupid movie I tried to watch with the same actor in an air bnb in Detroit? SOOOOO DUMB. But again, it may be because I watch movies that most people can't stomach because it fucks them up. Like Irreversible is one. Antichrist is another. Both are great movies that fuck people's heads up for a few days. *shrug*

I agree with Blair Witch. I saw that in theaters when it came out when we ALL thought it was a documentary. I watched it last year and it still holds up. Yellowjackets is sooooo good. A lot of that has to do with casting though. I like "scary" movies that might or could happen in actual life. Exorcist was good when I was a kid but now that I am educated, religion was "repairing" seizures due to schizophrenia likely. It's hard for me to believe paranormal things in movies, usually. I hate torture porn movies too. One reason I haven't seen A Serbian Film. I bet that is a great "horror" movie but I don't need to see all that gore to prove a point. Hellraiser was another good one for what you are talking about as well.

I agree with Blair Witch.

If you haven't yet, try "Human Centipede" for grossness factor.

I remember I was on location somewhere watching tv in my room and this documentary about a missing film crew and found footage comes on. Fast forward ONE YEAR and "Blair Witch" comes out and I'm thinking,"Holy shit! This must be the found footage I heard about a year ago!  Just brilliant marketing.

Oh god the Human Centipede movies are soooooooo stupid. I don't know where to find it, but Daniel Tosh did a hilarious recap of the first one. Edit: YES I FOUND IT! https://www.bitchute.com/video/jJdV2fK6qmSz/ lol

The Human Centipede films are gross and stupid, I agree. By way of contrast The Isle is a surreal and rather beautiful film, with a supernatural element to the story which may be easier for Koreans to understand.

Suicide Circle is more disturbing, this is about a cult in Japan that leads to school students jumping en masse in front of trains. Both of these were among a collection of foreign language DVDs that I bought recently.

The projected lighting effects have always been part of the show since 1951. Some of the routines are almost as old, which helps to explain how they can perform them with such precision.

If you watch the 1979 Italian movie Saturday, Sunday and Friday (Sabato, domenica e venerdì) you can see an earlier generation of Crazy Horse girls performing the Baby Buns number and one or two others. They appear in the final part of this three part anthology comedy film.

1942 biopic of R.J. Mitchell, designer of the Spitfire fighter, the plane that beat the Nazis. Or did it? The aircraft was effective during the Battle of Britain, proving a match for the Messerschmitt Bf109 although the German fighter had more effective armament. There were two main issues with the Spitfire, one was that it's production was labour-intensive, it took a lot of man-hours to build because of the elliptical wing, consequently production never met demand and so the RAF used large numbers of US built fighter aircraft such as the Curtis P40. It also lacked the range to escort RAF bombers on missions to targets in Germany.

Leslie Howard, who plays Mitchell in the film was later killed when the C47 aircraft he was travelling in was attacked by eight Luftwaffe Ju88 bombers over the Bay of Biscay;

Seberg (2019, dir. Benedict Andrews). Based on real events in the late 1960s when French actress Jean Seberg was targeted by the FBI because of her political and romantic involvement in the Civil Rights Movement. With Kristen Stewart, Jack O'Connell. Impressively well acted, powerful and thought provoking film.

The instant #1 Hit on HBO Max:
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/81/Naked_Attraction_titlecard.jpg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpqZ1mgFENE

It's an interesting show, can only take so much of it though.

The show is basically dating in reverse.

The show starts off by revealing the genitals of 6 contestants, and as the show progresses they reveal up to the neck and then the faces.  On the final round the contestants can speak before the chooser selects the final two contestants.  Then they get dressed and go on a date.  The final segment is an interview with the couple a few weeks after their date.

Unlike the advertisements, the show displays full frontal nudity, and sometimes closeups or other things that could give some people a heart attack... ie: when the male contestants had to make their 'things' do a helicopter.

Surprising, what I consider the most physically attractive females are usually the first or second to get voted off.
I think the show stresses being kind, because the people that are very overweight are never voted off because of their size, but because they have "small hands" or other somewhat minor feature.

Of the few episodes I've seen I've found myself being very attracted to females that I originally thought were on the repulsive side... somehow or another the personalities do show through!

The last episode I watched was an upper class 23 year old male virgin as the chooser.  He's into classical music and fancy wines.  After the female contestants VJJ's were revealed he got overwhelmed and the show was paused so he could take it all in and regain composure off stage.

The first girl he voted off was (IMHO) the most attractive. She had a great figure, no tattoos or scars.  The perfect girl next door. Most of the other contestants were very overweight and had all kinds of tattoos.  He chose to get rid of the attractive one for an odd reason "because she is the type he normally goes for".  I guess he figured that if he's going to get laid he had better do something and choose someone different!

The show isn't always a chooser selecting contestants of the opposite sex.
The show also has interesting quick segments about biology, anthropology, and science regarding human nature and/or sex.

The show has been in Great Britain for 6 seasons.  I'm really surprised I haven't heard of it until a couple of weeks ago when HBO put it on their streaming service and it became #1 overnight.

I'm kinda surprised that nobody on MM has mentioned it yet.

The point of building that hybrid aircraft would have been to get a direct comparison between the efficiency of the Spitfire and Bf109 airframes when fitted with the same engine and propeller.

Scandalous Photos (Photos Scandale) (1979) French exploitation film with lots of nudity, some wild party scenes and sequences filmed in Paris nightspots. With Brigitte Lahaie, star of French erotic cinema.

https://www.bing.com/images/search?view … ajaxserp=0

Lahaie's character uses a Canon Pellix camera to take compromising photographs of the daughters of wealthy businessmen, this was the first of Canon's pellicle mirror SLRs.

It's not JUST a British accent, it is the host's accent. And I forget the term she used for a man's balls but it was so gross. I just couldn't. If anyone wanted to torture me it would be this show Clockwork Orange style.
