Don't know if it's the best, but it's the most popular in my online port and my most request print offline.

A personal fav for several reasons... not necessarily the best of "me" per se:

Hell, there ain't a whole lot of "me" in it...

My Favorite of me:

Not too sure why this is my favorite, possibly the 'controversy' thread that was about it because I was 17 when the photo was taken. I also just LOVE the photographer and love the image.

My Favorite photo I've ever taken:

Amazing work Bob but my favorite is still the print I have of this image hand signed by Bob Randall. I sure wish you would post this one in the Pic of the Day thread. I'd love to see it hanging in the Winners Gallery. smile

I know it is just a snapshot. And not even a great one at that. But it is my favorite.

I don't know about my best ever,
But this one is (in my opinion) the best image from my current show.

But it's the kind of show where if you ask 10 people which is the best image....
they all pick different pieces.

I know this shot from the FM forums 100,000 page "show your studio" thread.  Very well done!

I'm amazed at how many people posted pictures that were obviously valued for personal reasons despite not being great photos, and went with documentary value as opposed to aesthetics. I haven't seen a single post here that I thought was anywhere near the poster's 'best' when I looked at their gallery. Not meant to be an insult, I'm just struck by the subjectivity of it all.

true, and not true.. i was a lttle hesitant to post mine because it isn't technically great.. and almost everyone here at mm seems better than me in that regard...  however part of being a photographer is knowing your craft well enough to get a decent shot when you have next to no time.. sort of like a zen archery..

Hard to pick my best ever but this is one of my favorites.  Going to be the background image on my website I'm creating.  And maybe business card.

This thread is awesome.

Please remember not to post 18+ images directly to the thread, guys.  There are at least two sets of nipples that I've seen so far.  Please edit your posts to make them links.

You may now continue the awesomeness.

Thanks!

Perhaps- although I don't personally agree that the ability to shoot quickly is essential (otherwise large-format shooters could never be considered great:-), but I wasn't speaking of technical skill, really. I was referring to the funeral/wedding/happy memory shots that some folks are posting, which are "favourites" only because of personal associations and have nothing much to offer a stranger. The shots that are actually *beautiful pictures of models* seem much closer to the spirit of the thread's OP.

For instance, as an "impartial" viewer, I consider this shot the most appealing & interesting one of yours that I've seen:

you picked the other picture of mine most people like -the funeral service picture actually being first..

someone named it

'it puts the lotion in the basket'

if you know norcal a bit, it was taken at jack london state park, we were walking along and she says, this will be cool, jumps out of her clothes and into a burned out tree stump..

she got dressed just before the rangers showed up...

It's great: nice colour, interesting angle (I was momentarily unsure if it was a hollow tree or lichen-coveren stone) and the model's expression is wary, like a wild thing who's just been discovered in hiding:-)

Not to be that Prissy Rules Dickhead but stick to the OPs intention.....

Pick a picture!
Any Picture,
One per Poster.

Stop with the posting of Mini Portfolios,
It's selfish and inconsiderate to the other readers and posters.

Now please go back and reduce you posts to one image,
If you must post the other twelve then please change them to links so the page loads faster.

How's about "best lately". I've got 400 pics in my favorites and not many are models (haven't been shooting with any of late).

So I was playing with lght the other night and came up with this. Yeah, it's me. I've been playing with blowing out a pic to make it look like I desire and this is one of the first i like.

Bob, that really is an amazing and wonderful image. And it's really moving to hear the explanations of Kaitlin, Lotus and Eyelight. My current favorite is probably: https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pid=1525656  18+. Or my avatar. Tough choice for me.

I think that sometimes you take shots for yourself and not to impress or to show but just because it means something to you personally. I think it's only natural that these type of shots become your favs.

And to the guy that's all angry about multiple pics and slow loading times, you sound like you're on dial-up. Why don't you just relax and nevermind what anyone else is doing. Let's just see your favorite(s).

Nope not dial up, T-1
(but why should users with slower connections be made to suffer because some people think they are special?)
and I already posted ONE image

The mini portfolios are simply rude,
and not in keeping with the thread.
Even with broadband the page is jumpy while the images load.

But, truthfully, I understand what you're saying. I just don't sweat over it.

But that's not the subject of this thread. Nobody said post your favourite, or what images hold the most meaning/memories for you personally.
The OP said:
"Show me the single best photograph you've ever been a part of creating."

And some folks, like SleepyWeasel" are actually trying to do that, which is great. Pictures of other people's boyfriends and graves mean nothing to me, anymore than my mother's grave would mean anything to them. I'm just hoping for more beautiful images instead of photo album shots.. sigh. Never mind.

I love this thread.  There are some phenomenal images posted here, and I'm really enjoying getting to see them.

Taking our cue from the trading cards of circus sideshows back when, Brad Miller and I created the shot below.  What I love about it is that it turns the whole sideshow freak concept on its head.  While I am the circus fat lady in this, instead of being the traditional object of ridicule, "Sweet Shyly" is a saucy thing just brimming with personality.  (Nevermind the awesome curls.)

I think it's a really well done spin on a traditional kind of image that returns humanity and individuality to a group of "freaks."  And that's what I'm all about.
