I have left any comments on too....but I have only had one constructive criticism one on this port and one rant about how horrible and demeaning bondage is on my other one. When I want an honest opinion, I call one or two photographers I know and ask them how I can strengthen my port.

Ok...if all you want is "good job" comments then why have comments whatsoever...is everyone so vain here on MM that they have to have a pat on the head? I am one who will point out problems in a shot. If you ask for comments I give em, good or bad. I feel that if I post up an Oooh Ahhh comment that I need to mean it instead of trying to win friends by telling them what they want to hear. I am always learning and any comments that I receive, good or bad, are taken constructively (unless it is obvious somone is being an asshole just for being an asshole). If you dont want comments then don't ask for them. The defination of comments is not a generic pat on the back. Call it something else. Call it "Praise" because thats all your really wanting. So from now on I want to see everyone who does not want comments to say. "I have new pics up. Please give Praise." If you do that I am sure everyone will get the hint and you will only receive those remarks that you demand for your port.

I keep trying to wrap my head around the concepts in this thread... But.. People are bothered enough by positive comments on other people's pictures that they don't like that they feel the need to complain about it? *smacks head with hammer* Oh.. Ok, that's starting to make some sense.. Let me think on this some more.. *smack* *smack* *splat* Yep.. Makes perfect sense.. ...good grief.

Just recently my friend tested this on my port. We posted not that great topless images. Well, I haven't had so many views in an hour in my life. Since, then I have took the boobies down. I will stick with better images rather then getting more attention with T&A. But oddly enough at the sametime, by best images have more comments. Such as my avatar. No one really commented on the boobie photos. They just looked at them.

You blowing smoke up their butts because you havent a clue doesnt do anybody any good... A comment is just that, a comment. I'm ok with anything they want to leave. It's not like it's going to change the way I shoot. *yawn*

This is me.. 1) I'm being elitist. (I don't spend that much time looking at other people's pics anyway... It helps maintain me as a snob..) 2) I really don't spend much time reading other people's comments. (As I mentioned in my other thread I'm losing the ability to comprehend modern English.) 3) There's a lot of things I don't agree with.. And I'll freely complain about them.. But they usually have to slap me in the face. Complaining about X's comment on Y's port when you're not X or Y.. Now that's truffling for something to bitch about.

I have one shot that shows a hint of nipple and it's got 21 comments because the models (4 of them) are doing somthing. Not because it's a tub with 4 naked women in it.

Oh, and I donât post straight up boob shots. Mine are hidden I think.

This is a public site. I'm sure more than half of the members are GWC's or "models" who don't stand a chance in hell of ever getting work anywhere. I'm sick of this, as well, but this is what happens on a public site, so we all have to deal with it, or leave. I personally think it sucks, but the good MMers overpower the bad

FosbreStudios wrote: Anybody can take a picture of someone with a turtleneck on...but not everybody can take a picture in playboy style Yes, but a lot of the people on this site who are shooting nudes (ALA playboy style or whatever you want to call it) are doing a poor job of it. The lighting is wrong, the shot is tasteless and ill say the model has no business parading their naked form in anything other than their bathroom mirror! I realize a lot of the photographers on this site do appeal to the exhibitionist in most ... but come on. If you want to call it art, than at least give me a reason to look at it. Give it some emotion, give it a story, give it feeling, heck a concept would be nice too! But if you don't give it any of these qualities, then don't call it art, call it what it is... PORN. And I for one would like some constructive criticism... I too am tired of the "well done! You can make it! You have an awesome career ahead of you" tags. When Ford or Elite or IMG signs you based on your "awesome MM port" with your trashy pictures of you girls holding your chest in your daisy dukes or you guys pulling your shirts up to reveal your mediocre abs taken with your camera phone then and only then will I eat my words. Thanks. CW
