Prefinesse? or Perfinesse?

Finesse:In contract bridge and similar games, a finesse is a technique which allows one to promote tricks based on a favorable position of one or more cards in the hands of the opponents. If one can lead up to a finessable position such as ace-queen, an additional trick can be won if the king is positioned in front of the combination of ace and queen.

A more precise definition of a finesse would be: A play that attempts to win either the current trick or a later trick with a certain card of the suit led, although the opponents hold a higher card in the suit, by taking advantage of the position of the particular cards.

A finesse is said to be on or off depending on whether or not the finessable honor is favorably placed (onside) or not (offside). Many finesses involve a combination of non-touching honors in the same hand, called a tenace.

Now... Place the word muse in a way it makes sense and voila! Perfinesse of prefinesse (pronounced per-finesse and pre-finesse) tongue

wow.

my faith in you is restored!

twice over.

you had me worried there young lady.

thank you!

'Tenace' (pronounced "te-notch-ee")....is a nifty submission....right up there in the first place environs.....cool.

Muset' - pronounced "myoozay".

Define it as any artist any field who seeks or uses a muse for inspiration and creation of their work/art.

I would think the muse inspires the kindler to create fire. It's that desire for fire, sparked by the muse, that causes the kindler to kindle the flame. The muse need not be a knowing participant in the process. Thusly, the muse is most likely not the kindler. Although, I suppose one can inspire one's self to put a light to something.

Or something to that effect.

precisely sir jonathan....very well stated!

Well, I have been thinking of variations of inspired..and the thesaurus lists Aroused..  But to me this can be taken the wrong way, and doesn't really feel poetic.  So I took it a step further an feel that the person inspired by a muse should be The Awakened..  After all, you can almost say that a muse has awakened the sensibilities of the artist..

Hasta Primavera! I'm outta here!

haha, ok now! ....this "demiurge" from whence does it come?

the muses and i are intrigued!

details kind sir!

dem·i·urge
n.

   1. A powerful creative force or personality.

The word derives from the ancient Greek δημιουργός (dēmiourgós, Latinized demiurgus). In Classical Greek, the word means “artisan” or “craftsman” (literally in the service of the people: δήμιος (dēmios) “official” + ἔργον (ergon) “(piece of) work”). It is used metaphorically of a creator (of the laws or the heaven) or even the Creator (of the World) in Plato.

Plato refers to the Demiurge frequently in the Socratic dialogue Timaeus circa 360 B.C as the entity who “fashioned and shaped” the material world. Plato describes the Demiurge as unreservedly benevolent and hence desirous of a world as good as possible. The world remains allegedly imperfect, however, because the Demiurge had to work on pre-existing chaotic matter. Timaeus states that it is blasphemy to state that the universe was not created in the image of perfection or heaven. Timaeus gives man "form" in three specific types: likeness, uniqueness and consciousness or being. Man is given these forms by the creation process or ontologically. To attack the form of man in being is to attack a form of not only existence but also one of the components of mankind.

In Plato's Timaeus dialogue, the World Soul or creator spirit exists with the Demiurge

Very nice thank you!

"Demiurge" is squarely in the running...we have a definite tie for top spot.

Demiurge is excellent.
Playing on Finesse is a good thing too.

As far as purple dragons go, he's got a good play on words started!

http://www.music.vt.edu/musicdictionary/ could be an interesting source for something....

I'm going for this one.

Pronounced me-oos but badly pronounced me-us.
It means mine which is cool for the muse.
It's short.
It's an anagram of muse.

Somehow I think this word will appear on AK68's port soon.

Cheers

I am with you there terry....thanks for your input.

It has all the necessities of a good common language term...and it's clever letter construct makes it just the kitty cat's meow.

Plus, hell, ya can't beat latin for artistic inspiration!

Oh, but if you need a noun, it's "Slave",  for sure.
Ask anyone who's ever been inspired to create anything---

but if that's too broad, maybe "Submussive" ?
