got an image that has a wronkled sheet for a background, and the image totally works? prove it! post here! Jun 06 06 06:21 am Link Dave Wright Photo wrote: Ok, ok, ok.... Jun 06 06 06:34 am Link How does one properly wronkle a sheet anyway?? Jun 06 06 06:41 am Link I'll do ya one even better... A wrinkled paint tarp. I've had some folks say it takes away from the image but I think it adds texture and keeps with the messy paint theme well. What do you think? Jun 06 06 06:44 am Link Cristal Steverson wrote: Honestly - I think it detracts form the overall image......I like the concept, though.... Jun 06 06 06:58 am Link sheets and tin foil should be banned from photos PERIOD! Jun 06 06 06:58 am Link There's only one way to wronkle or wrinkle sheets...and it isn't a typical activity a professional photographer and model should engage in together. Therefore, leaving em in a bag or pillowcase for a few days ought to do it..maybe add some ironing to crisp out the wrinkles Jun 06 06 07:22 am Link not really a background..but they are "wronkled" Jun 06 06 07:27 am Link Also a Paint tarp, But I washed out the fold marks prior to using, and lit the backgroud darkly to not emphasise the tarp Jun 06 06 07:28 am Link Cristal Steverson wrote: It would work better with out the square fold lines, Jun 06 06 07:32 am Link Mine is a wronkled trash can liner....... Actually taken by an agency/rock and roll full time photographer apparently this was the back ground for many metal bands. Wrokled is a joke that came of a thread long agoâ¦..Iâll try to find the link for ya. Jun 06 06 08:38 am Link well we pulled them wronkled sheets tight; so, the wrinkles wouldn't show. Bill Jun 06 06 08:50 am Link Jim Ball wrote: Ah, well, there are going to be two terms you hear here that are unique to this site (as far as I know) wronkled, and drapy shit. Wronkled was in fact originally a misspelling of the word wrinkled, but somehow it caught on. It is part of model mayhem history, happened before you came on here...long before you came on here. There are lots of threads on it, but I am too lazy to come up with them now...maybe our guru Brian Diaz will come on to this thread and explain the exact difference (which isn't much, except in some strange way I think wronkled means wrinkled AND slept on) Jun 06 06 08:59 am Link Cristal Steverson wrote: There's a tarp in that shot? Jun 06 06 09:34 am Link ~Krista~ wrote: Actually...I'm pretty sure it's "drappy shit" because I remember when I first read it I thought she meant "drippy shit" which made me throw up in my mouth a little. Jun 06 06 09:40 am Link I always thought it was a play on 'wrong wrinkled' bedsheet. i.e. it's wrong to use a wrinkled bedsheet. condensed it becomes wronkled. or maybe it was just a typo. Jun 06 06 09:49 am Link ChrisHughes wrote: I have to agree with Chris 99,95%. The 0,05% is for the case, that the sheet is sooooo far away in background (and blurred), that you can't even see it. Anything from it. Jun 06 06 09:54 am Link Kalle Mustonen wrote: Gotta agree on this one. Sheets as background = bad. Sheets on a bed = good. Jun 06 06 10:03 am Link I believe for the correct term is "wronkled up" Jun 06 06 10:34 am Link Do foreground sheets count? Here's both. Wrinkled. No wrinkles. Jun 06 06 10:38 am Link Doug Swinskey wrote: What a nice expression on the model's face. I would swear she was in love and looking at her boyfriend. Great capture. Jun 06 06 10:43 am Link Rue 99 wrote: That newspaper is wronkled! Clever insert of your name on the corner of the newspaper - and why am I looking at THOSE things??? I'm missing the forest, I think. Nice shots. /tim Jun 06 06 10:46 am Link actually if i remember correctly.."wronkled" was a typo and it stuck.... Jun 06 06 10:49 am Link I stopped using seamless and went to sheets 15 years ago and have never looked back. Wrinkled / textured sheets add demension and depth. I will move the model from the sheets at least 6 feet and shoot at about f 4-5.6 so that the sheet is usually out of focus. I will illuminate the sheet from the side to add more texture with a side light that can be colored or just white. Jun 06 06 10:49 am Link Not a sheet,..but it's "wronkled" Jun 06 06 10:50 am Link Hehehe....I love it. Great answers, and some really nice images. :-) So, a wronkled sheet is a wrinkled sheet that has probably been slept on too. What about stains on the sheet? Prerequisite or optional? ;^P Jun 06 06 12:16 pm Link There's a picture of Jayne Jones in her port (I don't know the number.. Hunt a little.. She posts a lot).. Lying on a blanket in the grass.. It's wronkled.. It's so damned pretty I almost wish there was no grass at all.. Sometimes wronkles are beautiful.. Jun 06 06 12:20 pm Link There was a stained green sheet a while back, Boy was that a funny thread, about an hour after the image was all over the boards the image was removed from the profile...... Stick around, there will be some new mayhem and you will be a part of it. Hey Chi wait untill that image gets stolen That is going to be funny. Being the cause of it--not so much so. :-) Jun 06 06 12:27 pm Link I am pretty sure the original, ORIGINAL "wronkled sheets and drappy shit" post has been edited out of existence. It was hilarious in a cruel sort of way. The OP's point was good but her spelling and grammar left her open to ridicule and once the MM feeding frenzy began... Jun 06 06 12:44 pm Link I don't know how to place the image into the message but here is the link -copy&paste: https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic … c35fabd044 I've used "wronkled" silver reflector for the background and I am glad I did that instead of using flat silver bg... Wrinkles are off focus and give perspective to whole image. Instead of hanging a plain sheet to the wall, I suggest using things more simple and creative (like wrinkled papers, newspapers, different color of materials -with small pieces-, metals, bottles, soda cans, etc.) I think its more fun... Would look more interesting too. Ideas ideas... M. Jun 06 06 01:00 pm Link We could all take a page from Max on this one.. NOBODY wronkles like Max V! Jun 06 06 01:23 pm Link ChrisHughes wrote: and RR Tracks!!!!! Jun 06 06 01:25 pm Link So is Tom Kelley's "Marilyn on Red Velvet" a wronkled sheet photo? Just wondering. I looked, but the closest I could come was this one, but the "wronkled sheet" is actually exposed reflective insulation in the background. Jun 06 06 01:39 pm Link lmao sheesh I made that typo "wronkled up" for "wrinkled up" almost 6 mths ago and its still going strong...... I feel like a trendsetter now ha ha ha You guys made me smile tee hee Jun 06 06 03:55 pm Link oh btw, great "wronkled up" sheet shots lol Jun 06 06 03:57 pm Link Can we get in if the photographer is old and wronkled? Jun 06 06 04:05 pm Link I don't do them, or at least not very well, and they really don't do very much for me (perhaps one reason why I don't do them well), but to say they shouldn't be done? Nahhhh... everything we do, pretty much, has been done before, and a good photo is good, however cliche it might be. Quite fortunately, none of us is the Supreme Judge for the Right Photo in society. So, my cliche`d attempt, and this is why I stick to my other stuff: Jun 06 06 04:19 pm Link In photography school I learned that "Wrinkles" go horizontally across sheets, while "Wronkles" go vertically.
