The cardinal rule of Vegas - nothing is fo free!
the guy - a visitor - is breaking the rules of Vegas and of decent photography.

I have to start checking the travel schedule of MM phtogs for those dates!

This post prompts me to rant about my two pet Craigslist peeves:

1. Photographers who post anonymously looking for nude models.

I go to Craigslist frequently, and I respond to some of the ads.  But yeah, the posting anonymously thing is annoying.  If they are as "safe and professional" as they claim to be, why is it necessary to hide their identity?  Especially the so-called modeling agencies...lol.  That's crazy when they post anonymously like that, because any legit modeling agency will WANT you to know their company name and won't hide behind some Craigslist anonymous e-mail address.  Another thing I hate about the anonymous e-mail addresses is that because of Craiglist's file size limit, you have to go resize all the photos that you want to submit in your e-mails.  That is a pain in the a$$, so I just e-mail the person and ask for a direct e-mail address I can send photos to...or e-mail them links to my MM and OMP page.  Sometimes people are too lazy to click on the links, so they'll e-mail me back and be like "You can send photos to this e-mail address."  LOL.

Use the craigs ad to get a response with a REAL email address.

Do not after the initial email continue to email the craigslist address

After that  I would be very suspicious

BJFP has been standard fare for at least a couple of semi-well-known photographers. They proclaim loudly that they don't do TFP, because they're above all that. But if the model is willing to provide "services," the fee is waived.

How often does this happen? Not very. But it's definitely out there. When the "offer" is made ahead of time, it's pretty easy for the model to reject. (Or accept, I guess.) At least the Craig's List guy was stating his wants/needs early on, and waiting for responses. Most of the propositions I've heard about are made to models when the photographer initiates the contact ... and gradually gets around to what his real plans are.

So, y'all have fun with the GWC thing. But I'll tell ya, there are pros who demand more, much more. Maybe that's why they're pros.

I guess I better hone up on my massage skills since I'll be shooting there this weekend.  HAHA!  I mean if this is standard payment for shoots then we'll have a little problem....

No, just to show the competition that we have to face in this town..

I get a lot of " I have a guy that will do it for free" line as soon as I quote my  rate.
I just never figured I was losing models for a massage!

Actually, I've been asked that one....Not by a photographer, but by a "massage therapist" who wanted to trade me massage time for nude photos of the model I was shooting at the time.  It was rather amusing, in a strange, and slightly creepy way smile

But when I advertise for models on CL I do get replies, and when I advertise for models here in the Model Mayhem Castings I get nothing.

Too true, and I have had better luck with my CL models actually showing up... MM models have been incredibly flaky.
