I totally didn't see that you'd posted!  (And thank you for the critique.)   I'm least wild about the high heel shot.  There's possibility with the idea, but the image itself doesn't quite get to where I think you were reaching.  It's missing some element of tension, I think, though how you'd convey that with feet is beyond me, so I don't know how helpful this critique actually is.  wink

I love where you're going with this image, however the way it was captured doesn't give me enough of the model to WANT to see behind the mask. maybe having like one eye looking at the camera with a seductive or mysterious mood would have done it for me.

great port though...it's so refreshing to see some different kinds of images!!!

I understand the concept of the slight look away, but in this instance, you look slight....not cross-eyed, but you know, your eyes are off...

and you look more like a lost puppy who wants to be adopted

Oh gosh... Tiffany from Nashville

not an easy task. In fact I would say - very, very difficult to pic one which I wouldn't like. Your portfolio is beautiful, perfectly balanced and you look stunning in every single picture. Very difficult if not impossible to choose one I don't like. But if I had to choose, it would be this one:

https://img4.modelmayhem.com/060413/11/443e8366cb575.jpg

nothing major wrong with it, only I had to pick one, so I did. Perhaps I would mention a non easy POV which photographer chose and a little bit too serious expression - kind of like - WTF are you staring at? Either way, very hard decission smile

Katrina, for me it would have to be this one

https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic … 66ed9494ef

yes, it does show your profile, but something about the cropping, and the vertical lines makes it look like you are about to fall on your back

https://img1.modelmayhem.com/060120/20/ … c55a_m.jpg

and MarkMerek, we pick you thus i do it...
good ideas aswell, good job.i would go for the second one as it s the same that the first one...

Ok lets join the insanity

This one looks like something from a crappy test shoot, plus I'm not a fan of the multi pic gig, lose it.
https://img3.modelmayhem.com/060328/23/442a1f1b46713.jpg

I dont know what this is, a candid, home amatuer shoot, or just poorly framed with no aspect ratio considerations.

Okay,  In my opinion a self portrait should show your best.

So I pick your current avatar.
https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic … 09045e8bb7

otherwise.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic … 0efb02c4f4

I feel I am missing the action of the shot.   Weakest shot.

Frankly this photo is hilarious. I love it. I agree with the comments above but it still makes me smile.

Now, el chulo.

https://img4.modelmayhem.com/060406/03/4434d05489e2d.jpg

This shot has no punch (shadows/colors) at all, plus it's a little cheesy.

Now hit me. In fact I'm pretty sure which one you'll choose.

What a great opportunity for some "real" constructive critique ... besides its becomming really hard to drop pics when I have new images to upload ...

I think this one ....
https://img2.modelmayhem.com/051102/20/ … 5563d0.jpg

firstly the image dosent work so well as a thumb .. but apon biggification to fullsize it turns out to be actually really good in tonal quality ... i love the difference in colour and texture between the sheets and the models skin ... But ... whats happening in the top left hand quadrant ... the bulge looks out of place, awkward and possably in need of medical attention ... distracting ... nothing that cant be cured with a little cropping

Matt the Viking - first I'd like to say amazing work. It was damn near impossible for me to pick a least favorite.
I picked this one  https://modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic_id=440b71c8e4a97 , Nice image, but it doesn't strike me nearly as much as the rest of your portfolio. Again, you have some great concepts and I love everything I see.

Edited : I had a period at the end of the link, it's fixed. smile

Thankyou Envy ... True praise from you ... Your work is outstanding .. all eyecandy of the highest level ... i guess I have to add Tennessee to my list of places to visit now ...

Your link is not to my folio though ... so I cant see the wrong-un sad

If i have to pick one of yours while this is an awesome headshot it simply looks out of place with the rest of your work ... https://img1.modelmayhem.com/060101/23/ … 02560a.jpg ...

Okay, Matt! I know you had one done already but you're right before me soo....

https://modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic_id=4321d7ad80773

I think that is probably me least favorite, just because it seems like it has the "least" amount of character out of all your shots. Also, there's something about the lipstick that really irks me. It's not a bad picture, it just doesn't speak as loudly as most of the others do.

I would like to see it in B&W and maybe more off center to give it a little more life.

Cheers.

Keith, first off great port.

https://img4.modelmayhem.com/060414/04/443f6a565e353.jpg

But this pic just falls by the wayside.  The model gets lost in the lighting.  It's almost flat on the right side in both lighting and composition.

well Ransom my least fav would have to be:
https://img3.modelmayhem.com/060327/23/4428cfa1651ec.jpg

Just doesn't fit with your port, It doesn't show off your obvious talent, ultimately its just not very interesting.

nice work overall tho!

Something about pig tails and girls wearing plaid skirts over the age of 14 kind of weirds me out...

Hey JustineDanielle,
I really like your variation in your port but of all the photos, i feel that your third one (sorry i'm not that computerly smart to copy it on here) is not as strong as your other ones. You have a very nice face and a confident and appealing look but with all that hair in your face it does not come across. But thats just one girls opinion, the girl who happened to read the thread after you.
Best of luck and keep it going,
Nishga xoxo
