great idea for a thread.  This is the opposite of

favourite pic (spelling)
https://www.modelmayhem.com/posts.php?thread_id=30799

For all those who want critique and the is a long thread on those that do want honest critiques.

go for it here.

Just comment on the worst pic shown at the time of the previous presenter.

I am tired and will go for it tomorrow.
Ignore me.  Start with the original poster.
I will join later.

This is generally a bad idea since the people who are asking for comments on images in their ports are not asking to be openly critiqued in a thread.  The big difference is that they have the option to delete derogatory comments where they can't do it on a thread.  Personally, I think that this approach is in bad taste and will probably result in this thread being locked.  If you want to let someone know which image is their worst then do it with a private message or post it in their comments.  Sorry to spoil the fun. smile

Jay Dezelic,

I disagree.  I think it is a great idea.  Many people do not want or need fluffy comments.

If you enter this thread then you except what you get.  If you are not up for it.  do not enter.

But I think this is a great idea for a thread.

I even hope that you will edit your post but that is speaking as a stylist not otherwise.

But a good idea for a thread it is.

I do this because i think it can be helpfull for everybody. It s better to know what is not good and try to improve you that every body just say "how, this pic is wonderfull, good job".yeah that s great but if you don t know what is wrong how do you want to improve your modelling??
If people do not want to it in public, tus just not reply and nobody will tell you "in public"

For tose who thing it could be helpfull, just start to play....

Who want to be the first one to critic me???

let s do this....

It's not that I am against negative critiques.  I get them all the time and it is very helpful to know what i am doing wrong.  Maybe I do not understand what it is you want to do.  A previous thread was started a while ago with the idea of critiquing those who requested comments via the announcements on the main page.  MM has a reasonably good system for giving feedback to members via picture comments, tags, private messaging, and a critique forum when they request it.  One of the problems that another MM member pointed out to me when I posted a positive critique on a thread like this is that the person being critiqued may not ever see the critique if they don't venture into reading this thread.

If you are asking for people to participate in this thread, then isn't it like hijacking the critique forum?  There are so many requested critiques that go unanswered there, why don't you just help those people by posting to there threads so that they can easily find the comments that pertain to them instead of having to search for them in a long consolidated thread?

The lighting seems flat  and bland compared to some of the better images in your portfolio.

You entered the thread, therefore you are playing. wink

You don't need 3 underexposed cameraphone pics.  Well, you don't need any, but this one is the worst of the bunch.

hmmm
gonna have to say this one.
Don't need 3 of almost the same shot. They also aren't up to par with the rest of your port. Which looks good smile

Aww, I have to pick on Katie?  I wuv Katie.. But ok..

Pic I love the least in the port:

https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic … 74e37cc828

Why?  Well I love all the headshots, so this was the "one of these things is not like the others" shot.. But more specifically, I'm not sure if it was a wide angle lens, or just the angle of the shot, but the proportions seem kind of out of whack.. (And no, it's NOT you..  Before you get all self deprecating..  I remember your port when you first started and hadn't become THE Nemi..  You're proportions are just fine..) And there's a bluish color cast..  One thing Star Trek has proven..  All the hawt chix.... Are green.

Ok, lemme have it.. Whatcha got..?  (Especially useful now, as I'm processing a new shoot, and knowing what I've done that sucketh could help me avoid doing it again..)

this one just seems a little heavy-handed with the softening and photoshop. it's a nice idea, though.

EDIT: so Cristina won't get skipped:

i think the expression in this one is not as compelling as the other red-background shots.

Right, but the idea here is to hear others' opinions.  And as you're only as strong as your worst photo, it's best to edit from the bottom up, not the top down.

RP, does your posting here mean you want a critique?  I'll edit this out if you don't, but I think the butterfly shot of Natashka is your weakest image at the moment.  It's a nice idea, but she doesn't look comfortable to me, and that's mostly what I see in the photo.    Noticing the butterflies is secondary:  https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic … f072de3dc8

I'd say the next time you shoot and have new images to put up, you could make way for them by axing that one.

Hope that's helpful.  smile

My turn!  I need the help - you can give me a few that you think are weak, I'll be shooting a few times next week and will need the space, but I'm too involved with each photo to be able to tell where the least interesting ones are.

Holy F'shiznit.. You're NEW?!?!  Talk about going from 0 to 60 fast.. I'm pretty sure the only way you could take off faster than that would be stepping off a cliff..

If that made no sense.. Lemme try this way..

DAMN NICE PHOTOS!  And, you look very comfortable...
