In my experience, the ones who actually commit suicide are the ones who don't talk about it. Eric clearly wants us to save him, and for all our sakes, we should do our best. This is clearly a better place with him in it.

I quit photography every year, but then always find that new model who I really want to work with. In fact, if I don't find someone who wants to shoot with me soon, I may quit again.
