Anyway, my original nomination note for Jessalyn:

My nomination goes to Jessalyn. https://www.modelmayhem.com/member.php?id=169688

Think about the number of relatively new models (some not so new models as well) posting threads complaining about not getting paid jobs and/or no one is willing to work with them over the last few months alone. Think about this:

1. She is barely 5'6" (she is 5'5.5", rounded up to 5'6" according to her). Not your typical commercial or fashion height. Did she ever complain about how life is not fair to her? Maybe she did. But she must have done it privately. I've never seen it anywhere in MM. Her self confidence and personality add at least two inches to her current height. wink

2. She lives in Manhattan, KS. In case you don't know where it is, take out a map of the US and draw a cross over it. The northeast corner is where it is. Yes, the person who named the town Manhattan in the middle of nowhere had a good sense of humor. She must have gotten that from drinking the water in that place. So, even if you live in the middle of Iowa or Idaho, you can't be that much far off to NYC or Miami than she is. Now those of you in NYC, Miami and LA who complained. . .

Now, go check her portfolio and see who she worked with over the last few months alone (from Miami to NYC) and the great images she help created.

What's her secret? I don't know. You have to ask her and the photographers who shot her. Anyway, if you want to improve your portfolio and potential for paid work, ask her what her secret is and do what she does.

BTW, she has been here for only a few months and she has become the darling for quite a few people here at MM. I am a fan. smile

For these reasons, I vote Jessalyn the Model of The Year at MM.

Nomination and voting continue until I come back to the US. smile

Couple of rules:

1. The model must have majority of her recent works through MM contacts.

2. Since MM is really a social network site, I think that aspect should be a consideration. So, if a professional model who has great work, but also happen to have a MM profile shouldn't be nominated.

We can have a model of the year thread that includes all models if needed. smile

Couple of rules:

1. The model must have majority of her recent works through MM contacts. Remember, this is MM Model of the Year, not model of the year on the net, on OMP or anywhere else for that matter.

2. Since MM is really a social network site, I think that aspect should be a consideration. So, if a professional model who has great work, but also happen to have a MM profile shouldn't be nominated.

Please also add a few words as to why you nominated someone. And please don't load their photos (It would make this thread too long to load. Give us their profile and we can check them out ourself.

Leo, you're a great writer, you should moonlight writing press releases for the huge Public Relations firms in NYC smile
She has my vote too—She's sweet, honest, humble, funny, considerate, ambitious, driven and passionate about modeling and creating great images. She'll work hard and do anything to help produce a great shot.

I think I'm going to go with https://modelmayhem.com/member.php?id=43219.

Everything that I've seen of Erin's I've fallen in love with. Her personality rocks, she's got an awesome body and I know that she works extremely hard at what she does. She's such a beautiful woman too!

There are definitley many, many things to strive for, admire, and hope to accomplish when you look at her portfolio!

Yes,
She exudes confidence.
She has a certain beauty rarely seen.
She is graceful, cordial, and wondefully polite.
And even though she has her share of comments on her profile, she continues to spread support to many many many other models (and photgraphers too).
From my interactions with her, I've noticed absolutely NO EGO!

Although she rarely post in the forums that ought not be a criteria (at least from what I read)
Yep, Giselle's my pic for sure.

As far as models who are comfortable doing nude, I nominate you Brandy, every photo of you looks great, and you're still young, so I'm sure that more brilliance will come. Flawless face and figure.

Overall, I love this woman: https://www.modelmayhem.com/member.php?id=203
(Natalie Lynn). She works hard at her physique, she's beautiful, always working, and her port is very versatile. ;-)

I like Giselle and Erin too. And I think Natalie Lynn is also good. But these models are successful before they joined MM, right? Also, do they have majority of their work outside of MM? I think all of Jessalyn's recent work had been with contacts through MM.
Maybe that should be stated more clearly? Still, I like this thread so far. I am discovering more good models in MM. smile

Keep the vote and nominations coming. Please remember to add a few words as to why someone should be nominated. smile

Well... she's humble... wouldn't even consider herself a model until photographers started telling her that she should, over and over.

She's creative, always trying to think of creative ideas for outfits for people to shoot.

AND, the whole reasons he is even doing this is because she actually wants to help the gifted, but developing photographers.

I am going to have to vote for Jessalyn smile I had the pleasure of meeting her this year, and she is just a doll! And for those who havent met her or read her profile she has braces, and will be getting them off in a few months... so I mean ... she hasn't even begun to blow us away! Which is great because each time she throws up a new round of photos they keep getting better and better!

She rocked 2006 and will continue to rock out in 2007 smile

While all the nominees have been great, here's mine.

She smart, sweet, chill, cool, and clever.
Her port has by far the funniest and cleverest Picture Captions,
her announcements at least make an attempt at the non obvious cliche's,
she definitely doesn't take herself too seriously,
and her port shows a large diversity of looks and styles and attitudes.

Oh yeah, and she's totally beautiful and classy,so..........

MM Model of the Year 2006 is.....

Diversity and elegance. Very provoking and stimulating imagery from many many levels.
Her heart and passion are seen through her images.

I traveld quite a bit this year so I think a little more wordly. With that said I am choosing Donna Feldman!

I can plug her into any market and she will fit perfect. When I think of a model I look to see the full package (runway, commercial, editorial, etc...). She has all that and a personality to match!!!
