The Last Picture Show was good no remake please Ruth Popper was the first MILF. If they did this movie today they would totally wreck it and make it a PG13 bore or go full tilt the other way and make it ultra sleazy.

Would like to see a remake of 'Dune' this time by people who have actually read the book. Seen two versions so far and they both sucked.

A real version of "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" would be nice. That last one was a hot mess. And - I was fixin to hate on the reboot (or whatever) of the Mad Max franchise Then came the Comic-con trailer - and listening to a coupla thousand people all say "Holy shit" in unison. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akX3Is3qBpw So, I'm never going to stop watching "The Road Warrior" But, I'm giving the new one a fully open mind..

After waiting 30+ years for a movie to be made of "Starship Troopers," I was hugely disappointed to see the "Mobile Infantry" walking from one battle to the next, after Robert Heinlein went to all the trouble of making flying armor. And to see them fight arachnids that shot hot poop. No raid on the Skinnies. No Arachnids coming out of the tunnel walls (well, "Aliens" co-opted that detail, plus "bug hunt"). SST: definitely needs a reboot.

The Right Stuff: I wouldn't mind a re-release with real shots of Earth from orbit used in the sequence involving John Glenn's flight. The crappy effects they used for Earth were very jarring.

I meant to say: I have no problem with whatever he was attempting He already had movies like Drugstore Cowboy, My Own Private Idaho and Good Will Hunting under his belt at the time. Bold people try new and difficult and sometime even foolhardy things. They certainly don't always succeed. People who say "I shouldn't try that" or ask "what right do I have to...?", on the other hand, never accomplish anything of note. They never succeed.

The voyages of the first starship Enterprise were fun. Only this time, leave out the Temporal Cold War plotline which ran the series into the ground. Time travel stories can be fun, but with lazy television writers involved it usually results in a big steaming mess: Heroes. I hate serial dramas, and having a plot line like the "Temporal Cold War" makes it a serial dramas. To me, serial dramas have to grow bigger & bigger & bigger & more complex & more convoluted until they collapse under their own weight. And they have to make a big thing about trivial items. By the end, the plot evolves into a Rube Goldberg machine of inefficiency. I know that serial dramas are very popular, and I'm not the kind that to insist that every show has to be my taste. But I'm not going to be interested in a serial drama.

I am one of the very few people that liked "Enterprise" Star Trek fans, especially the die hard ones were just way too anal about the show and Trek in general. Some of their negative criticisms drove me mad. I enjoyed the show for what it was and enjoyed every episode except maybe a few here and there. I do agree that the very final episode was a bomb. But that was because the writers knew the show had been cancelled and they were in a corner on what to do.. If the fans had been more inclusive and supported the show would have have had a full 7 season run..

I'm ready for a Spider-Man reboot into the MCU. Sony should do Amazing Spider-Man 3, and have Peter Parker die in it. Then Miles Morales can show up in MCU, and watch the nerd rage be met with pure awesomeness.

John Photography wrote: There was nothing wrong with the 3 Sam Raimi Spiderman movies. Nothing. Did not need a reboot Why must there be something wrong with something before it is remade? I truly don't understand this attitude. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. According to you one version of a Shakespeare play is sufficient. One arrangement of Mozart. As long as there's nothing wrong with what's already been done there's no need to do something new with it. It's ridiculous.

The idea of not trying to do something seems ridiculous coming from someone in a creative field. Just because others (may) have failed why does that preclude trying something new with a character or idea?

In the book, the rights and duties of citizens was the philosophical and moral underpinning of the story, and the powered suits were the nifty action parts. And the movie got all of that wrong. Well, the morphology of the actual Bugs was OK. That's the singular nod I can give to that steaming pile.

Although the second one wasn't bad, there was no real reason for it to be done. "Deep Throat" needs to be redone, only because nobody wants to see those funky 70's hairdos anymore. I thought Jersey Boys was just ok. I agree it was slow but I personally didn't like the voice of the guy who played Frankie Valli, sounded like he had major nasal congestion.

They have not even shot one episode and I am already thinking they should remake The Shannara series into a film or put it in another stations hands. I just get the feeling that MTV is going to make it more modern and directed toward teenagers and it's going to suck.

I'd like to see some decent Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn movies made. None of them were really well done, including the old ones. All the remakes have sucked and they are stories I really enjoyed growing up. Maybe JAWS even though it was perfect with one exception. THE SHARK. I remember the film scaring the shit out of me until they showed the shark and it was a major let down and was no longer scary. I was probably 10 when I finally seen it and the shark was stupid to me.

In today's sociopolitical climate, any remakes of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn are going to suck the ever-loving suck out of suckage. I can't even explain why without using words that'd get me brigged here. Not gonna happen. They couldn't even remake "Blazing Saddles" today.

I hate when film makers use modern day sensibilities & political correctness for historical stories. I don't want to see Gandhi kick ass or Lady Marion punch the Sheriff in the nose.

Raiders of the Lost Ark (Indiana Jones) was a fine movie. No need to remakes or sequels. I'm also a fan of Terry Gilliam's movies. No remakes, please. ... Time Bandits ... The Adventures of Baron Von Mushausen (sp?) Same for The Fifth Element.
