I like these threads because some of the guys I am sure think we are dumb because we are models smile

Molecular biology cool.

I did my degree on Geography; and specialised in an area of palaeoclimatology at Masters but still Geography. Now in the final six months of my doctorate; palaeoclimatology - studying ice cores.

I want to work in biotech. It'd be great to land a job at Hoffmann La Roche because they have a lab/office in my hometown, so I could be close to home.

One of my favorite models ever was a microbio girl. I don't think she followed it up as a career, though.

I won't answer the OP's question, as it was geared towards models, and I can see why it was asked in its particular context.

Your reply, however, bothers me. Man hating, even in a joking context, is ugly. For the record, I have always seen women for more than their looks, and I think a lot of other men do as well.

Shame that you jumped on that bandwagon. I mean, it is a bandwagon, right? Full of women looking for any excuse to degrade men?

Oh, see what I did there...

Ugh.

Geez I feel like a slacker...I failed biology twice and only spent 30 minutes in Chem before I said fuck you, I'm out!

I'm studying Motion Picture Productions (Film and TV). I figure if I fail in front of the camera, I can at least be behind it

It's cool to meet all sorts of people who've studied business! I'm taking my first business class this semester and most of it is self study, but I really dig it so far. One of the only subjects I really "get."

You're not a model though, Karl. tongue

I love biology, it's my favorite science! Especially human biology, so interesting. I don't really care for plant biology and how plants fuck, hahaha.

Only thing interesting about science are the labs. And only if I get to blow stuff up. Otherwise, I'd rather film a horror movie covered in guts and blood.

Wow that's really impressive! I was always terrible at science past Chemistry, I just don't have a head for numbers.

I study Public Relations, with a minor in Marketing. About to graduate soon, and super excited to be done!

How am I a man hater? I like men. I just said I didn't like the attitude of some men that models are dumb. Some women think that too; so it's not gender specific.
Just so happens that most of the photographers here are men. And some of them are continually banging on about models being dumb, or implying ad much.
Take here for example. Photographers can't get models to shoot therefore model must be stupid bimbo who doesn't want to shoot because she must be waiting for Vogue or Playboy.
https://www.modelmayhem.com/po.php?thre … 746&page=2

When the real answer is actually we are too busy with paid modelling work, or a job, or being a mother, or being in Uni, to be bothered to shoot with guys who expect us yo do tf and whose approaches , or when they offer tf and we reject, are sometimes unsavoury.

So it's easier to say models are dumb rather than acknowledge we don't want to shoot for free. we are busy busy. smile

But lots of photographers do understand that and those that do are the ones we work with.

But as for men in general the ones I work with, either scientific colleagues or photographers,  are brilliant. So I am not a man hater and just as many women think we are dumb. They just aren't here to address but you guys are smile

So I like these threads to show many of us are journeyman models to work our way through uni rather than dream of Vogue or Playboy.

My sisters did degrees in Film and Media. Cool.

Not just the labs are interesting

Field work is cool too. Especially being flown by the USAF (wink)to the arctic and drilling ice cores etc.

I did specialise in marine core biology for a while; so marine biology was an option open to me. Glad I didn't though, they are just below my dept and theres always a filthy stench coming up....something fishy going on down there lol

I was triple majoring in public relations, French and global international studies. Due to studying abroad twice I had to drop it to two majors and a minor, so now I am majoring in PR and French with the GIS minor (final year woo hooo)

I'm majoring in Marketing, minor in French. I'm taking a few Global business courses because I might get into some IB stuff.

I wouldn't mind going to Film school or getting a degree in Graphic design afterwards. I want to do so much. I need more money lol.

Really?  This is sad to think that way.
But then again there are plenty dumb Ph.D's running around dressed like a model and lots of smart BS degree models act intelligently

If someone has to throw out your PhD to gain respect, he should rethink his strategy.

Just sayin'

Indeed there are lot of dumb models, so are photographers.  There are lot of dumb people in this world and lot of ugly people too.  With ugly and dumb people, they Will be no smart ones.

I lied to my kids when they were little.  I told them all of us were created. I was wrong. No, we are not created equal. smile.

I'm applying to graduate school next year. Finally feel like I should be pursuing my master's degree.

I finished my bachelor's almost a decade ago. Doesn't seem like that much time has passed.

Figured I'd chime in, because I'm still a student, even if not a model:
BS - Astrophysics
MA - Comparative Literature, Medieval Icelandic Studies, Medieval Studies
And I hope to finish up my Medieval Studies PhD in a year or two.
