The best out there (for the money) ... Less than $200.00 a year!
Go to: Better Photo .com / they sell and host the best websites for the money hands down. I got mine from them two years ago.

www.addr.com

About $10 a month for the space (I used godaddy.com for the domain registration; $18 for 2 years). I've been with addr for several years, and no complaints.

Try this one: http://www.meccahosting.com/ca/

I've been with them for about a year now and still nothing to complaint about.

They're fairly reasonable as well.  I think I paid less then $100 bucks for registration and hosting.

Good Luck,

I have had a website in the past for my music and I just use a web-creation program.. I am planning to have one up for my photgoraphy site... I will be using angelfire.com and purchase one of the plans they have and register my domain name thru there as well.  $10-15 one-time set up fee and depending on the plan anywhere from 8.95 - 14.95 a month.  And you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at anytime and have it pro-rated.  Easy to use as well.

Yahoo website hosting.

www.michaelkirst.com

I use my own HTML though. Not the drag & drop programs that they (Yahoo) provide such as PageBuilder etc.

Works for me... and it costs virtually nothing with the amount of work I do.

I use and would recommend dreamhost.com

https://www.dreamhost.com/images/rewards/234x60-a.gif

They register a domain for free for you for the life of your account (so you don't have to pay domain fees every year) and they're cheaper than just about anyone else, plus they give great support.

I use HostRocket
www.hostrocket.com

The plan I have is $4.95/month (with two year commitment) for unlimited bandwidth and 5GB space. Plus they register my domain name for $20/year. No setup fees or anything like that. Not too shabby.

a number of years ago I used addr.com and their support was horrible. They also had the worst reviews.  Don't know if it's different now, but there are some ISP reviews out there that might be good to consult.  I switched to godaddy.com and have been very happy.

I use: www.mysitegenerator.com for my photography site (fatgirlphotography.com) and my modeling site (buxomentertainment.com) as well as my e-commerce site (buxomboutique.com)
It's cheap and soooo easy to use!

I buy all my domains from GoDaddy.com (use coupon code: TODD to save a few bucks!)

They are one of few companies that allow you to:
1. Post nudes
2. Use .PHP and/or .ASP and/or .ASP NET

(Note that no one else has mentioned Terms Of Use or scripting languages in their recommendations. Those are important factors to consider in addition to the typical "price" and "reliability/service" that people often laud).

I use http://www.godaddy.com for domain names, security certificates, and copyrighting ... and http://www.aplus.net for hosting, dedicated servers, hardware firewalls, and programming needs.

I've got a programmer in Ireland that does some work for my website at http://www.internetmodelclub.com and I also use http://www.goEmerchant.com for my merchant account so that I can accept visa and mc cards.  I can explain in more detail or help you set any of these things up!  big_smile

Man!  This is like the third such thread in the last few days.

Go to http://www.findmyhosting.com/ & enter your criteria, and it'll suggest some web hosts to check out.

They are actually pretty good.  I am about to lease three servers from them so I don't have all my eggs in one basket.

My local ISP is also my domain host.  It's nice to know the owner personally and have his personal cellphone number for when there are after hours service issues.

I used yahoo hosting - 11 and a half bucks a month and they provide a decent web site building tool.  Take a look at my site:

The Hungry Eye has gone through three providers in it's ten years, and the latest is the greatest by far.

http://www.servage.net

I get 25 gigs of online space, with 2100 gigs of transfer per month for $9.95. In a year of service I have not had one minute of downtime. They will also give you free hosting credit for signing up other users, so if you sign up, please use this code...;o)   CUST14045

How do you upload your pages for viewing?  FTP?     On angelfire I just upload files to a webshell.

Interesting. I know they had big problems in their billing department years ago (i.e., failing to bill customers), but it never affected me. They've improved since. Tech support I've needed has been minimal, but they've always been helpful.

I have two sites with them and am happy so far. (Your mileage may vary!)

Why not use Paypal to take credit cards.  No monthly fee, and 2.9% +.30 a transaction.  The person doesn't even need to have a Paypal account.

Oh, and I've used www.dreamhost.com for a few years.  Not the best, not the worst, but they have fast e-mail support and are very cheap.  You get what you pay for, and for the price, I haven't found anybody close.  They upgrade their accounts alot to stay competitive and update your account (no having to ask them to).  Haven't noticed any trouble with downtime.

I have an account with DreamHost.com that allows me to host an unlimited # of domains, so i can turn around and offer hosting to friends or clients i build sites for.  I have been happy with the service and uptime, the ONLY downside is that you can't call DreamHost on the phone.

DreamHost also didn't have a problem with my naughty paysite...many companies do because of the traffic.

I Love Your Work!  Also I know some models who I need to have shot on a regular basis for their own websites in your area.  My dedicated server is in San Diego at http://www.aplus.net and I can host you!  By working with me, you get the best of both the 24/7 support of a large company which has been providing hosting for avout 14 years and the personal customer service that I provide for those I network with.  My "mother of all website" is at http://www.internetmodelclub.com and I would be happy to talk with you about how this model networking community works.  Call me at (408) 218-2535  ... the IMC model team can also be seen on MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/internetmodelclub

That is a small plan, but Aplus is good!  I have the dedicated server with a hardware firewall which gives me added protection.  It costs me a lot more, but I can have up to 30 websites on the one server.
