Good for you.  We are all glad for you.  Please try not to spit on the rest of us who actually might  like to do more than take light readings.

Good to clear things up. This shoot involved three photographers who also know how to style and model. I played the model, but I definitely learned about styling, makeup and photography. But, some of the specialists definitely should not try to do more than one thing at a time, like walk and chew gum.

What happens if someone gets sick and you cannot get someone last minute?

Do you cancel the shoot or have the photo assistant do the hair?

It's rare that a professional MUA and stylists will cancel on a paid assignment.  If this happens the shoot gets rescheduled.  The MUA and stylist gets fired or does get called back.  Hire another MUA and stylist.

And if the model gets paid big bucks and the makeup is so very simple it would make you brain bleed.

The clients are supposed to be happy about this?

Just one man's opinion and don't mean to spit on someone.  I just firmly believe that it is better just to stick to becoming a specialist at one thing and mastering your craft.  It is an advice from many industry professionals, not just in the modeling and photography world but in other professions.  A brain surgeon does what he/she does best, same thing for a car mechanic and so on.

Hey, it's all good. Some of us are artists, and some want to stick to the specialty of glamour photography. More fun for us.

Many professional MUAs also bring an assistant so they can fill in such a sitaution should arise.  There are options just know how to handle the situation.

aeric goujon could out do many makeup artists is simply knowing how to do it and to keep it simple stupid.  Though I styled that shoot,  Aeric is also a great stylist.
And he is good looking so I would style him or shoot him or model with him or ......
And he is one damn fine photographer.

He could do it all if he wanted to and does when he has time.
He can do one of the jobs if something goes wrong.

This thread has gone astray from what should have been a simple positive thread.
But I had to react to people being ................

This thread is not about doing it all on all shoots or even any shoots it is,  at least in my judgement about doing it in general.
Learning and growing from the other areas of work, art, and knowledge.

And Damn you look hot there and that was fun.

Yeah let me shoot skin so you guys can style some clothes for other photographers.  No wonder wardrobe stylists don't like me, my models don't require clothes.  ;-)

Well Kaitlin can attest to my styling skills... not easy making a medium tank top fit an extra extra extra small torso...

I photograph... I'm a photographer... I art direct...  I style... and makeup is completely beyond me but I do a mean fluff job on hair.

However, I must say I would never try to do more than two of those things at the same time and expect good results.

Is there anyone who possess all three of these skills professionally?

sure. however if they are actually any good, they don't usually attempt all three on the same project. physically demanding, time ineffective, and a creative vacuum.

dream come true, why? cause you'd get MUA and stylist for TFP?
