"naughty bits" ... getting weary of such a
"cutsey" referral to natural areas of the body. As though these were something not quite decent to talk about. (little boys sniggling in a corner, girls in another corner) If you must ... how about "private areas"? maybe just me being picky or pedantic ... Oct 13 06 09:42 am Link i first heard the phrase 'naughty bits' used by monty python, reminds me of them when i see it Oct 13 06 09:46 am Link I make it a general rule to never photograph people with private parts. Oct 13 06 09:47 am Link How about "vagina"? Oct 13 06 09:52 am Link e-string wrote: there's more to the bits than the hole Oct 13 06 09:55 am Link I think in referring to naughty bits, people know exactly what you're talking about. The bits forbidden from publication in the US. It's naughty or risque when you show them, it's media acceptable when you don't. Private areas could be more ambiguous. I think my butt is definitely a private area as there ain't no one but my boyfriend and my doctor going to see it, but I don't think anyone would call it a "naughty bit." I think it's just a universally understood term that keeps you from having to list off what all of the naughty bits actually are. And isn't "private area" still just a stupid name so that you don't actually have to name those private areas?
