I want to put more of my energy into film production than photography.......

so just think what you`d get if you mix Quentin Tarantino and Russ Meyer together in a real Retro form and that`s what I hope to be in the next ten years

in ten years ...

there will be a photographic renewal ...  digital will be so high in res , and cameras will have so many features that everyone wlll have the ability to capture great images ... digital will be deemed worthless by anyone with talent ...

film will be the saving grace ... only those who know how to truley use the medium will be condidered photographers ...

I see the opposite.

If digital was 'so high' res then how could you tell the difference from film?
Bring back the 8 track tape player.

I just had a physical and everything checked out fine, and I come from a long line of long living alcoholics...  I think we have evolved through selective breeding to be impervious to liver damage.   But everyone dies of cancer, so it was a big trade

five to ten years from now i will sign on to mm and see a question about why photographers don't like escorts or see another question about why models are afraid of modeling nude.

If you are aware of the advances in CGI, you will understand how limited the photography market will be. Graphic design with image compositing skills will be the way to go.

you lost my point ... not that digital wont be a "better" medium ... actually , that will happen , very soon , where digital will surpass film in quality ... but, that it will be too easy to get amazing images ... and those who consider "photography" an art form , will revert to somthing that requires skill ... meaning film , and printmaking ...

btw , there are people called audiophiles who dont listen to CD's because the quality is not as good as Reel to Reel ...

Whether it is 5 years, ten years or the day after tomorrow I will likely be in Yellowstone or the Tetons photographing elk, scenery and other wildlife. It is the end of September and I can't think of a better place to be.

Oh, tomorrow I'm packing my gear and heading into the high country. It is that time of year.

Industry: 5- 10 years ...  same.   20 years... all virtual.  50 years...  just in a museum.

Me: Same as above smile

there will be no print magazines. internet magazines will pay nothing for their content. it will be virtually impossible to tell the difference between e-zines and myspace in terms of 'quality'. advertising will be all buyout, with the price roughly the value of a current family photographer portrait sitting.

noone will remember film let alone use it. film companies will all be out of that business. casio will re-define the professional level camera. fixed zoom lenses will become the norm. 3mp the norm (why more as nothing will be printed).

galleries will have been replaced by ebay.

iran will be the center of fashion... the burka being required garb

5 years from now...

i will be happily pushing up the new-world equivalent of daisies.

Pretty much sums it up really. If you look at most magazines today the amount of ads is dropping. Quicker in some cases like Time,Not so quick in others. When ad revenue drops to a certain point the paper issue will fall by the wayside. Each day they find faster more direct ways to get the message to you as the consumer, phones, black berries etc.
We will all be fighting for less of a smaller pie. My darkroom will be in a museum somewhere, most likely with me standing next to the enlarger.

5-10, I will have more choice in the shoots that I take. I hope by then, I will be a master webmaster. My site will do well.

50 years... I look more forward too. I will have a burlesque house in my English Castle. Write my life story, and be the new age Dixie Evans. Telling tourist tales of burlesques, and allowing them a peek at an old fashion girlie show.
