Very few people here think there is anything wrong with nude modeling or nudity in general.

Flies should wear cloths.  Or at least exoskeletons.

The stakes are simply higher for the model should the images be poorly-done or misused.

nothing wrong with it, just not for everyone.

To put it offensively, it's the difference between missiornary and cowgirl.   Whatever floats your boat

Nude is okay as long as it's done in black and white and shadowy.  then it's "art".  Anything other than that is trashy and pronagraphic. smile

There's absolutely nothing wrong with at all...we are all the same underneath the clothes.  A breast is a breast...a penis is a penis...

Unfortunately, the GWC's give "nudes" a bad name by posting their "pics" of "hussie" models on motel (not even hotel) beds in cheap lingerie.  The only experience these "hussies" have...is a special appearance on a C.O.P.S. episode.  GWC's also like to sell such pictures to stock-photo whores.

As a result, models are hesitant to pose for legitimate photographers...after being hounded by perv GWCs.

I agree, the artist can show the beauty in any medium.

The problem with nude work is that certain parts of society look down upon those who pose for it, no matter how many galleries it may get into.

My mom included. wink  Ok, she doesn't look down on me.. she sees it as beautiful, but she wishes it weren't HER daughter.

And I often wonder if it'll hinder any job prospects I'll have in the future.

I don't think my mom would appreciate my nude work either...

I am nude whenever I take off my clothes.  In fact, I shower nude every day.

As for modeling, it is a personal choice.  I think we spend way too much time talking about it.  You do it if you want, otherwise you don't.

Moms are like Flies ... both should wear clothes in US.
In Europe .. Moms Flies Etc consider nude to be life.

I can frequently name where a model in an image got her lingerie. I've recognized Target, VS, Fredericks, etc.

I think the best outfit is your own skin...but as I mentioned in my post above, GWCs give nudes a bad rep.

I think we need to make room for all the hussies and GWCs. They are here to stay and their are more of them than us.

I know, but the models lack trust in ALL photographers, regardless of legitimacy, because of them.

You should judge a photographer by the work he does and the way he acts, rather than distrust all photographers because of what someone else does.

I agree...but not all models have the eye to distinguish or seperate the two.  Many GWCs will promote empty promises to attract hopefuls...to lure them into their hidden agenda.

hmmm.... that's like me saying people are only pretty in one color.  you need to rethink this statement. it's far too generic, not to mention cliche'd.

just the fact that we have to thave a discussion on wether or not nudity in photography is appropriate over and over proves how ignorant american models and photographers are to what is really out there. the level of censorship in this country is redidulous, on all levels, but especially in somethig you can choose to look at, or not.

There is nothing wrong with nude.  I think the human body is beautiful and as long as the photograhy is done tastefully, I don't see why anyone would be ashamed.  To each his own.  As for the weirdos out there, models just need to have half a brain and do reference checks before she (or he) decides to strip down for the photographer.
