Unless the photographer was my boyfriend or my husband, and the shoot was just something we were doing for fun --- I would have totally walked out on this one.  Immediately.

That is just WRONG.

Mt third photoshoot, and I was obviously new...The photog wanted to do "tasteful" nudes, lingerie, with a couple "artistic" shots of me shaving. I've got a pretty artistic mind, so when he said artistic shaving pics, I could see the potential of them being artistic. Well, needless to say, they were not artistic. He's shot girls and some of their pics from his shoot has gone to Maxim and Playboy, but he had a ridiculous backdrop that looked so cheesy, and afterward paid me, when I was supposed to be doing tfp...I wondered why he paid me, but was happy for the moolah, so I was like whatever...I was naive. I havn't seen any of those shots of the web, but I can imagine where they could have gone. Btw, the photos were so cheesy that I didn't even want any edits. If I knew now what I knew then. But at least I'm keen to the b.s of people now. It will NEVER happen again!

A bad shoot is when your poses "DON'T" get anyone exicited. Cause then - you're out of business.

I am a professional, and I act like one. I expect my photographers to do the same. I'm not a whore.

That being said, I really don't do glamour much at all anymore, so my purpose is not to arouse. And at that shoot, my purpose was not to arouse HIM.

My worst shoot...

Model showed up on time. Sky was clear and blue.. We drove to a mall nearby to shoot in their outdoor amphitheatre.. it has different area with different looks.. a desert area, a grassy park with fountain area, a tropical garden area...etc.. We got there.. construction crews were there.. amphitheatre was totally destroyed.. they were changing everything .. all torn up and no access.

We drove to a park that had a lake, waterfall, and lots of trees and plenty of grass.. it had been annexed to a golf course. couldnt get in.

We drove to a housing development I had shot at.. with a bridge, trees, water fountain and waterfall.. torn down and houses being built.. fences all over the place..

Now it starts to get a little cloudy and looks like rain.. we out run the rain.. get to a park.. as we get set up.. we just get started and the rain shows up..

so we drive to a Hotel.. I get a suite on the top floor. we set up to shoot some lingerie, and she mentions she wants to do some sexy boudoir and some nudes.. we get started.. we hear a loud crack of lightning.. and the power goes out.

Oh well... she moved a few weeks later.. we never got to shoot again.

sounds like my life!

There is a huge difference between artistic nude images and porn. And as far as I can tell, she doesn't do porn modeling -- these shoots aren't designed to get anyone off. I do a lot of figure photography, but I seriously doubt anyone has gotten off to any of it. Fine art nude vs. porn = a big difference. Nude does not equal sex.

Now back to our regularly scheduled thread.

The images weren't artistic.. they were glamour.. stuff I don't really do anymore. But still.. very unprofessional, obviously!

As for people finding fine art nudes arousing.. I'm aware that it does happen. Some people find any sort of nudity to be erotic. I think it's a little goofy, but oh well.

His remark seems to me to be about as insignificant of a thing as you can get - probably meant as a compliment and if so, should have been taken as one.  My guess is his arousal was noticable, and his reply was to make a lighthearted joke to cover his embarassment.

So is that what you're thinking when you're posing?  I only want to arouse the people I want aroused, and if somebody gets aroused that I don't wanna get aroused, I'm gonna be pissed and take my marbles and go home?

Like I said, the "real" thing you should be worried about is NOT having an effect on anyone because then you have failed at the job you are being paid for and failed as a model.

This isn't the worst shoot but it is the worst experience I ever had....

I did a fashion show a couple of months ago. This was the first time that I was the main artist, in fact I was the only artist, for several models. It was hard but I actually enjoyed all of the practice and the experience...except for...One "model" who shall remain nameless decided that it would be a good idea to have a few drinks before the show. The makeup had been planned out for each model prior to the show so this should have been a breeze but said model sat down and continued to explain how she wore her makeup very dark and dramatic. I explained to her that while this was fine for her, it wasn't for the show..I did try to appease her by adding a bit more liner and some thicker lashes...Well a few minutes rolled by and I get approached by another model who kindly wanted to let me know that this "model" and her "model" friend were in the bathroom redoing their makeup!!!! I was so furious!!! I was practically shaking, but I continued to remain professional and I spoke to the promotor in charge of the show who in turn told this "model" that if she ever pulled a stunt like that again that she would never work in the biz again!!! To make matters worse, I walk out of the bathroom to find her friend going through my KIT!!!! Come to find out, these girls were strippers trying to break into the modelling industry...They ended up walking the catwalk looking like streetwalkers...Needless to say we all (photogaphers, promotors, designers, etc) made  sure that the pics taken at the show didn't feature any part of that makeup!!! What a nightmare...

It was unprofessional, and yes that is something that I should worry about as a female model. End of story. There are PLENTY of professional ways to compliment me, as many other photographers have shown me.

He also asked to take off his shirt. He was a GWC. It was CREEPY, trust me. I wouldn't have noticed his arousal because I wasn't looking at his crotch.

Why would I want to arouse an old guy? Seriously. And did I call off the shoot? No, I finished it, then went home.

There should never be a purpose to arouse the photographer!!! If your shooting glamour or wearing a plastic bag shit like that should never happen. The situation should always be professional. the only thing that gets me excited at a shoot is when i look in the camera and i'm getting great images.

Sure, I've had cute photographers. If we have good rapport (I'm friends with many of my photographers), I'll flirt a little, if they're flirting. It makes for great images. But it's very tame and harmless.

Exactly flirting is harmless if you and the photographer have good vibes then that helps the shoot. People don't like to act all stiff when there working have fun is the main goal to me. less stress leads to better images thats just my opinion. I have never had a bad shoot yet. if i ever find a situation to be uncomfortable then i'll just shut it down and say have a good evening. I understand where your coming from luv seems to me some people can't help themselves in certain situations...

I met with a local would-be model, offered a TFCD session. She showed up and we started shooting. Her mom was in the room the whole time, but we were just doing some casual shots, nothing in the least bit PG (her escort was supposed to be the supportive friend I met with her originally).

I noticed that one of her eyes is smaller than the other and that it was causing a posing problem, so I explained the issue (tactfully I thought, explaining that no one is symmetric and what her best angles would be).

I could see that somehow I still hurt her feelings. Ten minutes later, she suddenly "felt bad" and "needed to eat something," so we ended the shoot.

I sent her the proofs, never heard back. First model who ever flaked on me *after* a shoot.

Learned a lesson that day: only professional models care to hear constructive feedback about their figure, facial features, angles, expressions, etc. The wannabees, you just have to give more direction and not explain so much how the sausage is made.

Nerlande has my endorsement for just such a thread. When she's not being mischievous here, her ability to produce any level of visual 'awesomeness' on demand has been witnessed and documented time and time again.

Mislabeling confidence appears to be all to prevalent when the subject is indeed - 'a spicy little package'.
