I did some modeling a few years ago and did a few shoots in the nude, yes, i the photographer have posed nude GAH!!! Anyways, one was with my ex wife and the other was with a model that was a friend. I think i did one other than that but can't remember. Anyways, the photographer said he woudl not get any of my manhood in the photos, lol. I got back like several hundred photos and low and behold they had grapefruit in them. It would not have been so bad if the poses looked right or something, but the photos were not as professional as I had hoped. Anyways, here are two that i don't mind sharing, and they don't have grapefruit in them. I probably would have been more satisfied if i had been in better shape.

Anyway the pics are in my modeling portfolio here:

Anyways, i just wanted to get other peoples insight and hear about their experiences

I guess all of them, anyone who has "POSED" for a photo. I am curious though to hear about photographers first experience taking nude photos.

These are some shots from the very first shoot I did at my studio, not the first I ever did. I wanted to shoot some punk and goth girls just being themselves.I found this one while I was in a chat room about 5 years ago, actually. She was 18 at the time.Never stepped foot in front of a camera before.

I had just gotten my first set of strobes, a cheap Britek 3 light set, and was practicing with her.I wanted more in color but I was also using my first digital, an Olympus E10 and screwed up the white balance. I was shooting her in the reception area of the studio because it was night time and too cold in the main part of the studio at night to shoot nudes. 1900 square feet with 18 foot ceilings is nearly impossible to heat, lol. So, we used the reception area.
We drove to Daly city from Sacramento to pick her up, 2 hours each way.Did the shoot then took her home. The sad thing is she had been kicked out by her mom rght before we picked her up.I did not know this. Apparently when we met her to pick her up she had been crying , I thought she had the sniffles or something.
Turns out she was hooked on a bunch of drugs and booze. She saw just one single pic on the front of a site I once had, didnt like it and snapped on me. I knew it was the drugs and booze talking and not her. She was just an absolutely sweet girl to shoot. Had a great silly side at the shoot with the most catching giggle. That was the real her.
Anyway, after her snapping on me I lost contact with her. She was going from friends couch to friends couch because of being kicked out of her parents place.
I tried to find her ever since. 5 years off and on of Posting ads, talking to photographers in her area and all. No luck accept for one saying he worked with her and would love to again but can`t find her. I at least wanted her to have her pics.
A few months ago I was here on MM reading a post about suicide girls and similar sites and happened to visit the link of someone from southern cali who replied in the thread with a link to the site they ran. On the preview page guess who I saw!Yep, it was her. I was not sure at first because due to growing she had changed a bit but it was the site owner I showed my pics of her to, and the fact that she had the same tattoo on her cheek that proved it was her.
Then, I looked further into the site and saw this one particular photograph of her. It was then that it hit me that for months I had been talking to her thought MYSPACE about getting together for a shoot. The pics she had of herself on there made her look so different from 5 years ago that I had no clue it was her. And the tattoo on her cheek never showed on her myspace pics.
I emailed her about this and she was busy doing some sort of tour or something and weeks later I finally got a reply. She was so hopped up on drugs back then that she didn`t remember my business name therefore she didn`t know she was talking to me, the guy who did her first ever shoot 5 years ago.
She apologized for going off on me .I told her  I knew it was the drugs and not her snapping at me. She thought if was cool thatwe found eachother  and thought the way we found eachother again was funny, especially considering we had been talking for months and didnt know it,lol. She has grown up a lot.Still drinks but not like she used to.
She is working on her own website and does want to shoot with me again. I actually can`t wait.
Here she is, nothing special really, and ALL 18+ but not explicit at all. She is also on MM under a different name but has not signed on here since about October of 05.
http://apexphotography.com/layla/index.htm

and here is a partial headshot of her which is actually on a gallery wall as we speak. I am using it as part of my "Soul Windows" series.

My first photo shoot ever was nude. I was a little uncomfortable because the photographer was making inappropriate comments, but its been all uphill since then!

I had a membership in a small studio in New York that provided the models.  The first time I shot the models were comfortable being nude and I was had no problems.  I shot quite a few models in the studio and in group photoshoots in upstate New York.

The girl I mentioned above was doing this as her first, too. Topless was nothing for her.But I had my fiance there and she started out fully clothed and we let her go at HER pace. Once she got down to her panties she got a little timid so we slowed down even more. Once it came time to see if she wanted to actually do full nude, she said yes, started to remove her panties, and we noticed a slight probably half second pause then she took them off. I asked if she was sure cause I noticed the pause but she said it was fine.

I was working weekends in a supermarket and this guy came up to me and gave me his card.  I wanted pictures of me because I was just getting back training after an injury so I said yes.  I never realised it would be fun.

I've never had any problems with shooting nudes.  The human body is a work of art.  I find that shooting nudes is more complex than clothed shoots because the pose, angle, and lighting are critical to the success of the shoot (not that they aren't in clothed shoots but I feel they are more critical in nudes -- just my opinion).   To date, everyone who has shot with me has said that they were comfortable, treated professionally, and enjoyed the experience (knock on wood).  The vast majority of my work is shooting artistic nudes for clients as gifts for their significant other.  I've had several clients bring friends to me to have images done too.

Actually looking back, my first time posing nude was probally the best. It was with a woman photog who was a student, but acted very professional. Technicaly, many of the shots probally could have been better, but I was very comfortable working with her. Pretty much its been downhill from there, most other photogs I've worked with have been men, and some have made me pretty uncomfortable. I'm actually thinking about giving it up.....

Actually, I have seen a number of posts from female photogs who say they have done self-shot nudes.  But you are right, a lot of guys (other than me) seem to have.

I've considered starting a website though.  DumpyOldMen.com.

Sorry, never posed nude (pause while everyone breathes a sigh of relief).

How I got started:  For a while, I did some dance photography -- in fact, I still think it was some of my best work.  To see some of these images, go to...
     http://www.looknseephoto.com/california/dance.htm (suitable for all audiences)

One day, I got a call from a friend of one of the dancers who wanted to make some sexy pictures of herself for her boyfriend.  Not knowing what she looked like, I said sure, and was very surprised at how good looking she was.  We made some implied nudes:
     http://www.looknseephoto.com/california … rs0001.jpg (warning 18+)

She liked the images we made, and then went crazy.  She started body building, radical dieting, and got breast implants.  She posed a couple of times again.
     http://www.looknseephoto.com/california … rs0003.jpg (warning 18+)

But she only wanted to do implied nudes.  So, I went out & found someone who wanted to try posing nude -- I don't remember how we found each other, but we had a great time working together & made tons of wonderful, inspiring images.

     http://www.looknseephoto.com/california … ich003.jpg (warning 18+)
     http://www.looknseephoto.com/california … ch006h.jpg (warning 18+)

I liked what I was able to achieve, and I've been photographing nudes since.  While I may be more polished & skillful nowadays, that first nude model (the last 3 images above) is still an aesthetic & sentimental favorite.

(Interesting tangent:  she was doing nude self-portraits before her 18th birthday -- I wonder who would get in trouble for that.)

I came about shooting nudes almost by accident.

At the time, 99% of my work was products shot on transparency film. I was beginning to burn out, and wanted to get back into the darkroom and do more "artsy" things. Back to what I fell in love with photography for. A friend suggested that I try shooting some black and white infrared. As one of my first experiments, I shot a coworker and noticed the gorgeous flesh tone that the film gave me.

I contacted a local model (who was also moonlighting as singing telegram/stipper person) for a commercial shoot. Raincoats. Afterward she asked if I would shoot a sexy photo for her fiance, whom she just became engaged to. I figured that it might be a great opportunity for another infrared experiment.

A quick phone call was needed to get the O.K. from my wife. No problem. She is an accomplished painter, and we are both art school grads, so figure studies are part of the territory. However, I have to admit that I was truly uncomfortable, far more than the model was. She was totally unfazed by the shoot. So after the initial awkwardness, SHE helped make ME comfortable! The shots turned out great, and she became my muse for the next three or four years, until she moved away.

Ah, memories. . .

She needed motorcycle lessons, and I really wanted to try shooting with a model. So we did a TFML. I was so awkward, and she was so experienced, it was embarrassing, but we got some good results. Best for me was: https://modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic_id=42834d6188bab

That one was the best by far. Everything came together right, and I happened to see it and visualize a possibility.

We did some other shooting in the barn and most of our other stuff was outside, but it was more of me trying to make something nice rather than taking advantage of the surrounding elements.

Nice. The only thing  I would suggest is tinkering with curves in ps if you have it and bringing the plain white areas down a bit so they arent so hot.

I guess I was unclear -- there's only one woman involved -- Jessica is my favorite model, and she is also a terrific photographer.  That last link was the sitting where she last posed for me.  She's currently spending a year studying in Germany, and I'm looking forward to her returning late this summer.  She goes to school back East, though, in upstate N.Y.

I posed nude with 2800 others in downtown Cleveland.  Still can't find me in that sea of nekkid bodies.  I have been photographed quite s few times, unclothed, but I am a nudist, and we always are taking pics at picnics, gatherings, during volleyball and such.

I did pose with a friend and that was fun.  In fact, it was a gag pic for her hubby.

Artistically speaking though, I have not.  I did meet an artist who worked with me for 2 shoots so that she could get a different perspetive.

My first TFP shoot back in January included nude shots.  The photog was working on some sort of art collage of nudes.  So part of the deal for the TFP shots I needed was to do some nude art still life type poses.  He was very professional and the shots worked out well.  No drama here. smile

the first time i posed nude for a photographer (as opposed to art students) was for a project about figure models.
the photographer is an instructor at a University and he contacted some of us to try to capture the human aspect of people who are often just seen as props or mannequins.
so the first time, he met up with me in the studio i had just finished working in, and he had me take the same pose i had been holding (all stinkin' day. ow) for a sculpture class.
he's brought me back many times to take more pictures, but he's kinda amusingly scatterbrained and hasn't been able to give me prints or scans or anything. it's slightly more understandable being that he's working with a monstrously big camera and can't drop the film off just anywhere.
still, when i see him and get a chance to look through the new and old photos, it's strange looking back at that first set. i've changed a bit since then (adding a bit of muscle, cutting my shaggy hair, and i don't shave my pubes anymore) and the contrast amuses me.

on the photography side, the first nude shoot i did was with Kate, and some of the pics are in my portfolio.
she saw pictures i had taken of a friend of ours and wanted to come over to see what i could do with her. she had a few ideas and outfits but the one she wanted to start with was her with a small black blazer and some cute underwear (and nothing else). she had never posed for anyone before, but she was very comfortable and eventually offered to take the blazer off and just pose in the underwear. nothing too scandalous, but it was exciting, and i think we got some good results for what was a bunch of firsts for both of us.

My first nude shoot was a TFP shoot with a model who usually charged $200 bucks an hour (she said). She showed up late and with her sister, both hung over and reaking of cig smoke from being at the bars untill 4am. We started shooting some clothed shots first, when we started doing nudes her sister had to leave the house because it freaked her out. The model was fine. My biggest shock was the fact that the model had a birth control patch on he left cheek she would not remove and... I soon realized, had a tampon in as well. I spent hours with giant blowups of her vagina on the screen photoshopping string. I was sick of the whole process after that. She turned out to be a nice enough girl and she used several of my shots in her portfolio, so I was happy in the end.

Back in 1964-65 I did the annual pictures for Maryville College. The annual editor was a young woman named Sarah Parker. and she set up all of the shoots, plus went to the shoots.
We became good friends, and she even worked for me from time to time finishing prints. The day she was to graduate, in June of 1966, we decided to have a good by lunch, and at lunch I mentioned that I wished that I had ask her to pose for me.
She replied that she still had about a hour before having to be back at school, and we quickly went to my studio that was just up the street.

Sarah got undressed, and I made about fifteen exposures on large format film.  She had the prettiest breasts I have ever photographed, and was the model in my "Prefection in White" print, that is still being sold today.

Sarah left Tennessee that day, and has never returned. I ran her down about ten years ago in Albany, NY, where she was getting her PH D, and we talked about that quick shoot.

I had done a few toples poses before this shoot, with other models, but this was my first full nude shoot.

I posed nude for a photographer when I was 17.  Didn't know it was illegal at the time and he never told me.  Then he tried he fixed me a drink because I was nervous.  Yeah it was kinda sleazy, but I was young.  Still he never touched me and he actually gave me some pretty nice prints.  It could've been worse and it could've been better.
I learned from it though and it taught me how to conduct myself as a true photographer later on.  My first nude on the other side of the camera started with the model asking for a drink preferrably alcoholic.  I immediately said no and mentioned that if you're nervous, I'd rather not do it at all.  In my opinion the model needs to be 100% comfortable with the idea and NOT under any kind of influence.  There are ALWAYS other clothed alternative shots that can be taken.
In the end, the shoot started clothed and as the model relaxed it did end up with some really fantastic shots and a great comfortable atmosphere with a request to do it again.  Amazing how being a professional and not putting any pressure to do anything the model doesn't want to do can change their whole dynamic.  That and not being some sleazeball who just wants to see ya nekkid!  Well, I guess that's not entirely true otherwise I wouldn't want to do the shoot, but you know what I mean it's on the artistic level.  Hmm, I think that tangent may just be another thread.

I posed nude only once, that I know of.

I smeared myself with Crisco and dumped a bottle of Kayopectate over my head and then set the camera's self timer.

I sent copies of the prints to random women in retirement homes.

It was GOOOOOD.

It was many moons ago -pun intended- I was enjoying a morning Yoga practice on a CO Beach. A Guy introduced himself as a Naturist Photographer and asked if he could photograph me. I was kind of caught off guard and it being  basically a public place I said okay "just don't disturb me".  Big mistake, the next time he saw me he handed me some cool prints and I was hooked! There is something addictive to modeling.
