Apr 15 06 11:35 pm Link I have also been looking at the work of Nan Goldin Apr 15 06 11:40 pm Link Landra Lee Photography wrote: I like it also. It isn't showing up on my browser without cutting and pasting though...let me see if I can get it posted. It is behind a da cut. Apr 15 06 11:42 pm Link What we do , we forget to leave work behind and look at an image. When I used to paint I used to get really close to the paintings in the gallery to see the directions of the brush strokes thus losing the meaning of the image. But technically, I am looking at the light on the models legs and none on the boy and can see the the boy was placed there after. there is not the same tone and light distribution across the model to the boy. But it hits close to home. See I am not an impartial obsever, I worked on the beach through my youth catering to demanding tourists. But the juxtaposition forces you to stop and stare, and that is the point. Apr 15 06 11:44 pm Link Lapis wrote: This would be quite interesting if you could not see the handlebars. Apr 15 06 11:45 pm Link For anyone who did not see Randall Slavin's editorial with Charlize Theron in Flaunt, this was a whole spread that I thought was just freaking awesome (sorry for taking up so much space but I really loved this because usually celebrities are shown so glam, and Charlize is so cool for going all-out with the acting for this set): Apr 15 06 11:58 pm Link I don't generally scan the internet to view images, rather I have horded away magazines for decades and buy virtually every book and purchase prints by those whose work I turn to for proof that there is a God. i post a few of these photographers images here (in no particular order) that I was able to easily find online (there are others, of course) and don't abuse the worksafe concept copyright is held by the respective photographer andy warhol robert mapplethorpe paolo roversi irving penn robert mapplethorpe richard avedon mario testino helmut newton annie leibovitz ok I'll stop now Apr 16 06 12:28 am Link there is one of the skinny skinny models that are disturbing - but turned out to be faked http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/skinny.html Apr 16 06 12:37 am Link ...i think this guy may just be a genius.
