Would it be a good thing to be featured in this magazine?

They seem to feature everything from the highly artistic to the pornographic.  I know another model who was featured on their site who won't show pink at all, ever.  Anyway, such a wide spectrum of work there.  I don't believe it's technically a "porn" site anyway.

It's owned and run by Petter Hegre. It's a very good idea on his part as it drives a lot of extra $$$ to his pocket, however to anyone who is in nude photography and is not as popular as Petter it is good and recommended step to take. A lot of high quality exposure.

Yeap,

that is Petter Hegre's work. Looks like he has multiple stuff going on. Hergre is more known for shooting young women. More like a 18 to 20 year olds.

His work might be controversial here because of the nature of the images(thinking about the Herge images.) He's if I  do recall, a European photographer that was a student at the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, Ca..

But the site that linked us too seems to be more fine arts and better. I'd like this one over is main site. Looks like Avedon was a fan of his too.

Go for it babe.  The editor is a friend of mine, and he's a standup guy.  I just saw the first print edition, and it's 100% in the realm of what I'd call art nudes.

There have been threads on this, Krista.

I talked to them as well about being featured but have not heard from them since their last contact email from the "editor" at least a couple of months ago..

Borders here carries the hard copy.  Petter Hegre is Norwegian and he started shooting pretty girls in his hometown.  His work used to show imagination, sensitivity and humor.  It's still pretty good sortcore.

I didn't actually look at the magazine, so I don't know what's in it.

is that for online usage only or published or secondary publishing?

It's a bit overbroad and vague....

This is (at least) the agreement for uploading images to their online forum.

I wasn't aware of them, and they not of me, but on closer look, the guy who is the editor is someone I met in Santa Cruz.  He seems to be a pretty cool guy, I can't imagine him part of some evil scheme to rip off artists, him being one himself.  (Though I'm alittle peeved he never contacted me for work....hmmm....so far this makes me not contacted by Newnude, Suicide Girls and even basic porn providers....tis enough to give a gal a complex.   not to go postal, but a complex nevertheless.)

It might just be the language is some boilerplate they ripped off rather than spending a great deal of time with legal advisor on what language they really wanted to/should use.

He should really come onto the thread so it gets explained.

Hello Folks

My name is Andrew and I am the editor of The New Nude.  I thought I should add my 2 cents here before people start getting confused.

1. The New Nude Magazine is indeed owned by Petter Hegre but it is not meant as an outlet strictly for his work.  It's true in the first couple of issues we had to do a few features which showcased his images but that was mostly due to the fact that nobody knew who we were and therefore had great difficulty finding contributors.  All that is changing now.

2. The New Nude Magazine is about just that...the nude and the photographic culture that surrounds it.  That means we show all kinds of work; fine art, fetish, etc. etc.  Some photographers and models we show are more hardcore then others but we try to be as well rounded as possible.

3. If you are looking for male nudes try here:

http://www.newnudemag.com/en/exclusive/37.html

or here:

http://www.newnudemag.com/en/book/50.html

or here:

http://www.newnudemag.com/en/book/45.html

I admit we have a lot more female nudes but unfortunately that seems to be an industry wide problem.  If anyone reading this knows of any photographers/models who focus on male nudes by all means let me know! --->[email protected]

4. As far as the agreement is concerned; the one being posted here is specific to the photo forum, which is a completely voluntary.  I'm not going to get into a big debate about legalities, etc. etc. because quite frankly I suck at such things, but bottom line please consider this - Absolutely nowhere on the site or in the printed magazine can you find an image where it is not incredibly obvious who the model and/or photographer is.  We take crediting peoples hard earned efforts very seriously and it is in our best interest to do so both ethics wise and business wise.

If anyone has any direct questions for me I am always open to helping out through [email protected].  Sometimes it takes me a while to respond as I get A LOT of e-mail everyday but sit tight and I will get to you when I can.

I have a copy.  Whatever your opinion, at least this is a photo magazine not a camera magazine.  The emphasis is on the image not the hardware so it stands out among other US publications.  My favorite photo mag however is French Photo.  It’s got it’s share of skin but European class all the way.
