For the most part I have gotten a CD with all the images. I then take it home and get to choose which ones (how many is agreed upon beforehand) I want retouched. And the photog can choose his.
For me as a beginner it really helps to see all the images, simply to figure out what works and what doesn't. That doesn't mean I will float unedited images over the net or something. Just for my own viewing (or send to a friend)
I find that what I think are the best shots sometimes differs from the photog. And since it's TFCD it's only fair I get the ones I think are most flattering to me, so that both get something out of it smile

ahhhhhhh the grand debate.

if it is tfp communication up front should be the key to success. as long as everyone knows what they are getting and why everyone should leave happy!

if it is paid work whoever is paying the bill sets the rules.

someone once told me "it is what we learn after we think we know it that really counts."

some changes in technology have provided as much confussion as help.
we are all still learning.
