Hate Mail
Here's something new that I don't believe has been discussed here. How many of you get hate mail from strangers to your website? I'm asking both models and photographers. I don't get many but I do get a couple. I tend to ignore them and go on about my business, but I am curious to know how many of you out there get them too? In my latest "hate mail" was from a girl who said I give girls a bad name. Well each to their own. I love my job as a glamour/swimsuit model and I don't intend on stopping any time soon. I also have an open mind and can appreciate art in all forms. For decades women and men have used the human body as art, example Michael Angelo's David, Klimt Gustav's Nude Veritas, models such as Marilyn Monroe,Betty Paige and other Pin-ups, Playboy, and so on and so on. When are people going to lighten up? Jun 23 05 10:03 pm Link The simple answer is basic human behavior means a certain amount of people will be jealous of you for a couple of reasons. One is your beauty and the other is your success. The more popular that you become, the larger the target for the crackpots. If you have a public awareness and a way to be reached, then its easier to take a shot at you. Nothing that you can do about it, so don't let it get to you. You now have experienced 1/10,000 of the troubles well known movie and music stars get into. Success does have a few bad things that go along with popularity. Being a beautiful lady means that there will always be someone else who thinks they are better than you, or worse, that you have to be a bad person because you are so pretty. You can't deal with or argue with sick or strange people. Jun 23 05 10:10 pm Link I don't get hate mail from strangers. I only get hate mail from people that "know" me. And now that I think about it, most of the hate mail I've gotten over the past couple years has been fromt he same person using different names. Hate mail from strangers is usually even less worth paying attention to. Jun 23 05 10:17 pm Link Gloria, that's not hate mail, that's jealous mail. Don't give it another thought. As a species, for the most part, we're extremely petty human beings, as I said, don't give it a second thought. You're a stunning young lady, unfortunately, there are those out there that would give an arm and a leg just to have your looks if only for a moment, since that's no possible the only way they can cope is by lashing out at you...again, don't give it a second thought. I've gotten a couple of emails saying that I'm not only giving females a bad name, but also bringing down the black race. One person went so far as to call me a prostitute because they said I was try to sell my body as an image. I was speechless to even think that people could be that closed minded and ignorant. Jun 23 05 10:53 pm Link Gloria, I hear ya... but people tend to allow their own insecurities to encapsulate someone elses entire personality...I have gotten it on different levels as does everyone eventually for something. People as a whole arent happy unless they are judging the actions or choices of others. I agree with my buddy Glenn as well...some take using your beauty to gain success as something that renders you unintelligent and shallow, but what is it about them that makes them take the time to try and bring this to someone elses attention. Ignore them, or say your piece, whichever you prefer, remember that if that is all they are using to create their perspective on who you are, who is the one needs the adjustment on what is right. ; ) Jun 24 05 01:07 am Link Weird thing is... I never get hate mail from people I don't know. I always here girls talking about getting stalkers online too... I never get stalkers on any site I have been on.. Im on myspace with 780 friends (no stalkers) Im on this site and many more but no stalkers... I guess Im not cute enough to get my very own stalker... please someone make me feel special or cool and STALK ME! lol (just kidding). Seriously just ignore the hate mail or simply click on "block". Some people really do think that what we do is morally wrong. They have no desire to do it, so they're not jealous. And they're apparently eager to vent their disapproval. Jun 24 05 02:38 pm Link I'd like to send hate mail to all the biatches in the past who belittled and berated me and my work and publicly said on another site that they couldn't imagine any of my photography work being suitable for inclusion in a model's portfolio when approaching agencies, or be in a capacity to advise models. One model, a good friend, just got signed with an agency in San Francisco this week! Minutes before her appointment with the agency, she rushed downtown to where I was in training and got the prints I made for her. Today, she followed up with me to tell me the great news. She's signed and doing her first fashion show in a few weeks! And accomplished this with my images in her book. So there! Phoeey to you and your small comments. I didn't fail the models as a photographer. I do right by them. I'm not no big time all encompassing guru when it comes to shit like this, but one thing I do know for a fact jack, I don't steer a model in the wrong direction that's contrary to her personal goals.  P.s. Even though I've made peace with some of those who berated me at one time, or another, the "kid-in-me" just haaaad to get that off my chest. lol Jun 24 05 02:38 pm Link Well Iâll give you one more. I have my work on a Pbase.com site...where I have a "guestbook" I used to allow anyone to post things...comments, questions, constructive critiques, ....you get the idea.... well, some people who didn't have the guts to say who they were, (probably the loser who has been stalking me for the last 3 years)...had been contributing too... except, he was making personal attacks towards me and the models who are pictures there...and create fake names, and made flase claims about me for the whole world to read.... I noticed that several of the logged IP numbers were the same...and so I just changed the guestbook to "members only posting".....in order to have an account there, you have to pay with a Visa, or Paypal account..where things can be traced back to a real person.....which seemed to take care of that problem, however,..everyone else if effected because of one 56 year old loser who still lives with his mother in Milwaukee.......however, me and a friend of mine who is a former Army Ranger, knocked on his door,...and "persuaded" him to leave me and the models who I have worked with alone. It's usually only something along the lines of "you're fat and ugly111!!!", so zzZZzz. Delete. Jun 24 05 03:56 pm Link I got hatemail once from my portfolio site. Some wuss emailed me saying "All of your models look like whores", then proceeded to mention he lived 2 towns away from me. Since he decided to be a big wuss and emailed me anonymously without leaving his email address or a name I had a little note up on my portfolio site for a week along the lines of "If you're going to send rude emails, have the balls to leave an email address for me to respond to, or say it to my face in person." Never heard from him again. Nothing erks me more than people who hide anonymously behind their computer consoles talking trash.
