ok sorry... i had 3
i just like this one because of the feel it has. she's not the object of desire. she is the power in this shot

this just tells a story without even writing it. and its a universal story. everybody pretty much says the same thing when they see it.

I'm still new, so that's one reason I haven't gotten many comments.  That and I took it myself which it seems is a negative point against it...but I expected to get more comments on this image (which is also my avatar):

I love the way my skin (with the help of minimal photoshopping) and eyes (didn't touch them) turned out.

This is from my first sitting with this model, and she has become not only my favorite model but also a good friend.  There's a lot I like about this image:
   >>> Subtle & soft lighting.
   >>> Non-standard pose, which is interesting.
   >>> The glowing light on her breast.
   >>> Good model-photographer contact.
   >>> Messy hair & nice light on her face.
   >>> She has a smokin' figure, doesn't she?

Yet, it's received only one comment (as of this posting).

As a photographer... I must say I totally love this photo... everything is just right and the model has just a perfect body, great lines and proportions.

The mood... hey... if I would have shot that (if I'd shoot nudes) that would hang framed in my gallery! Seriously!

As a moderator, I am not happy about all those 18+ nudes appearing in this and similar thread over the past one or two weeks..., images that should only be seen in someones portfolio, by the 18+ crowd.

Please, link nudes to your portfolio and make a quick 18+ disclaimer...

Anyway... love the photo.

This was my first attempt at chiaroscuro/Rembrandt lighting. I've also been going for that illustrated/painted surrealistic look to my photos. I even tried to pull off the illusion that she was hanging from the bar as an afterthought, but I guess it wasn't that effective.

While I don't really have what I'd call a "favorite," a couple that I like that don't get comments or view are these:

https://img2.modelmayhem.com/050618/02/42b3cb0fa63f0.jpg

  This one we were going for an old "Hollywood" sort of look, and the model nailed the makeup and I really like her expression. Persoanlly, I think it's a rather successfull photograph, but it only has one comment and relatively few views.

https://img1.modelmayhem.com/051201/22/439021a1e4684.jpg

  And in this photo we were going  for a very soft lighting setup; it was designed to be a high-key lighted image but without using the more typical white seamless (so it's not really high-key in that regard). I was hoping for more of a response to it as I think it turned out rather well and the model liked it as well.

  Hopefully these shots don't suck and I'm not seeing it... Wouldn't be the first time!

Actually is was the server -- I copied the URL but it wasn't right as there's an img1 and img2 server that doesn't show up. So, when I did "copy image location" I got the right URL. Thanks everyone for the help!

I've always liked this and sold several as posters.   Not expecting many comments because the site is mainly a glamour type site and my works skirts the edge.

Or I just suck and no one has told me for 18 years.  smile

I love taking my own shots (even though I know I do need professional images and I need a better camera myself)! I just wish it weren't such a negative thing to everyone for me to be taking my own photos.  I'd like to gain knowledge in photography, and I'm the only constantly available model to practice with. lol

I will post the ones I like on here because I know I'll get unbiased, honest feedback on whether an image is any good.

There's nothing wrong with taking your own photos; self-portraits are taken quite frequently in photography classes. Also, I forget her name, but I came across a photographer who pretty much only photoraphed herself. The most reliable model is yourself, and you don't have to worry about TFP or even model releases! Of course, that won't work for me because I demand way too much money from myself to model.

  The thing is, when you do self-prtraits what people really complain about is the shot of the model shooting themselves in the mirror or something like that. Or, models who shoot themselves with a cell phone or a webcam. But if you're able to do good self portraits then go for it! This is even a topic you could bring up in the photographers forum.

  Now back to the regularily scheduled topic. Threadjack over.

And two, how did you shrink down the original post? ( I don't see the HTML code that did it. )
