I look at most all. I tend to favor the fashion, pinup and retro because thats what I like to shoot.
I don't have any T&A posted because I don't shoot that. I'm trying to focus my style on somthing I feel has a future.

I like a lot of the images you have posted. You style is dead on IMO and the models look to be top notch, kudos to you all.

But, I try to remain true to the fashion and art sense and notice the number of views on erotic images. That may be driven by casual viewers and NOT potential customers

Yeah, it depends on what you mean by "works". If you're trying to attract models for TFP then magazine covers work best. If you're using your MM portfolio to land paying jobs ... do any photographers here do that?

If you're after views/tags/comments/validation/ego boost, you're much better off somewhere like Deviant Art, My Space, PBase, etc. If you're seeking honest feedback from peers then I think the subject per se is less important (art being style over substance).

Nice insightful view of the posed question.  It’s been said, two eyes are better then one.  Thank you for helping me see what you saw when reading his question.

What works best, is what shows off your work, and appeals to the people on the site the most.  That is certainly going to be different for everyone.

For models, if you only upload 20 head shots, there is no indication of how you actually model.  You need to upload a mix of close ups to full length, and anything else that shows your unique or best features.  If you are athletic, or have great hands, or feet, or stunning eyes, show it.  People are more likely to pick you for your uniqueness, than for your sameness (the field is much smaller).

For photographers, if you only upload 20 portraits, that's all people will expect from you.  So, put up a variety of what you do.  Show your range. .

And, for gosh sakes, if you don't do nudes, DON'T POST ANY!  Don't even "tease" if you are not interested in doing them.

If you do do nudes, show it by uploading one or two with the _RANGE_ of nudity you will do.

Saying you don't do porn, is well, unnecessary.

I say retro for me. I love seeing it. But that is what I do best. I can still be the fetish girl, the beach bunny, or even the T&A girl. But I like alittle more art and a ton of tease!
Even if I do as I call a modern shoot. I bring my retroness to it!
Like for the beach Bunny I would wear a vintage bikini! I have a ton. Fetish girl, I will wear vintage stockings while being tied up. T&A girl, I will wear lacy vintage like lingerie! I just want to be timeless, sexy, classic! With a huge punch of tease!

T&A baby, T&A that's all we want to see! tongue

I don't think the genre is that important to me photographically, it's about a consistent style and level of quality in the work. Variety is good, but a portfolio that is too random doesn't give me a clear sense of the photographer's true art.

Personally I'm drawn to black&white photography, so that usually gets my attention!

I don't really care about customers, I do my art for myself. I look at stuff that fits my style and aesthetics. I also like b&w fine art non genital oriented porn....

Not care about customers! Customers pay my bills do I can pay models.
Customers ask for 'range' where you show you can master a variety of styles.

Our outlook is different; models are looking for a photographer, professional photographers are looking for 'customers' not models.

personally, i have fashion, commerical and glamour.  I have had many people email me and tell me to pick a style, but they are all so similar and well...that is my style.  To stifle myself because it doesn't fit into a cookie cutter mold is so "unartistic".

Post what you want to shoot.  Showing what you like attracts models that like what you shoot.

Variety is the spice of life.  Diversity shows to the potential clients that you have what it takes to capture all looks, themes, scenes and styles.  No one is perfect nor do I claim to be... However, if it works and you get paid for your effort; Kudos.

This site has heighten my brand which is "me".  I will continue to market elsewhere but grounded here for specific styles that I shoot.

I just wish I could post more photos, but in reality; what you see is what you get.

take everyone elses advice, (god knows i have nothing of value to say... smile  )   It probably is casual observers on the erotic stuff, people like to see that for free, dosn't make them customers.

I personally love looking at Pin ups and light Fetish stuff. But in general I like to look at a well done photo in general. If the style and the model appeals to me I´ll take a closer look and comment.
