eeeewwwww I've met them.  Earlier in my career they used to come to the shoots with the B glamour models and watch....eeeewwwwwwwwww  *shudder*

and unfortunately the ones I have met do contribute in a very negative way...they tell the model how to pose etc...they play art director/daddy on the set...they like to feel important when all they are is IN THE WAY! and the drooling is really gross *shudder*

and yes, this is the only way in hell they are going to see a decent looking body unclothed without paying at a strip club...and you can't tell those girls what to do without whipping out cash smile

omg hilarious!!!

but sooo true!

Being a manager gives you that warm, special, fuzzy feeling that your neglectful parents never gave you.

Sad but true answer to the issue.

Is there a difference between a manager and boyfriend?

Yes - taking from earlier posts, the boyfriend will encourage and help when YOU ask. You want them to go to a shoot, they will. You not sure you want to do "that type" of shoot - they'll tell you its up to you but hope you don't. You want their advice - they probably give some stuff, but you'll need to ask someone in the business.

Managers on the otherhand will dole out advice 24/7. You want them to go to a shoot, heck, they're in the dressing room with you. You not sure you want to do "that type" of shoot - they'll tell it's already been paid.

As for just being the friendly type and advising them or setting up on the other site as a manager - sorry, most photographers don't have time to do a lot of advising nor taking ANY email. I've had models ask me as well about managing. NO. Got a specific question, great - ask. Want me to intercept your email? No way. I'm busy enough being a photographer - that's what I do.

Boyfriends know when to STFU, and boyfriends dont say that every photo you have is not as good as the ones the "manager" had taken, and boyfriends dont tell you taking your clothes off will make you more money, and managers are scared of boyfriends!!!

My boyfriends don't try to tell me how or what to model or for whom.

Waves hello,  I'm interested.

Well if any females want to pay me to be their boyfriend then I am there.
I am not cheap but we can negotiate.
