- the only real way to drive legitimate photographers away (your competition)
- $50 paperwork fee for models
- big pimpin' at the clubs in the VIP room
- the girls call you "daddy"
- don't forget the 10 percent
- all the free web content you can shoot
- the girls really love your 4.0 megapixel point and shoot
- maybe one of the models will be your girlfriend
- it beats finding a real job

hey, feel free to add to the list - I'm bored

Hey,   Do not make my eyes bug out even more then they are at this hour.

I am trying to burn DVD's and my eyes hurt..

I looked like Roger the Rabit when I saw this on the main page.

The word "manager" in your title, helps people forget that you fancy yourself a photographer, and thus you don't have to be embarassed by having to explain why as a "photographer" every shot in your portfolio, sucks.

It helps when you try to avoid paying state mandated fees since you're really trying to act like an agent and you can tell the community that "you're not an agent, you're a manager."

What the hell does a model manager do that is so special? What is the point? It's nowhere near what an agency does-why would you need one?

He has the very important job of keeping you from shooting with anyone but him.

Oh, I see. This guy contacted me from another site, claimin he's a manager and his main photographer is a pretty well-known photographer. I'll email you the guy's name and photog-I don't want everyone to know. He claimed to get me all types of work and I pay him only 20%. The girls on the site were not even attractive. I was surprised to see that this photog would even shoot them!

Don't forget that the managers who don't shoot at all. They are the guys who get to hang out and watch you change or remove your clothes without contributing to a shoot at all! It's like being a GWC without even needing to buy a C!

I know of one model" manager" on the other site, who is also on this site..... His work is pretty cool. However, he is not. He is the keep them for himself type. He found one gullible enough to sign a 20 year contract with him, they had a falling out yet he still keeps the contract ad admits he does so on the" if I cant shoot with her, no one can" basis.

This is why many successful full-time pros have virtually no presence on these sites whether it is OMP, MM, or Pimpmodels.

I just can't believe how ignorant people are.

eeeewwwww I've met them.  Earlier in my career they used to come to the shoots with the B glamour models and watch....eeeewwwwwwwwww  *shudder*

and unfortunately the ones I have met do contribute in a very negative way...they tell the model how to pose etc...they play art director/daddy on the set...they like to feel important when all they are is IN THE WAY! and the drooling is really gross *shudder*

and yes, this is the only way in hell they are going to see a decent looking body unclothed without paying at a strip club...and you can't tell those girls what to do without whipping out cash smile

I had a young lady from the Other Place e-mail me asking if I would do TFP with her and if I would be interested in being her manager. Never met or contacted her at all before this e-mail.  I looked at her page and saw she had a great look, but crappy web-cam shots.

I replied I would be happy to do some TFP with her, but I was not interested in being a manager. Told her I had not seen any advantage to having a manager unless she had an overwhelming desire to pay someone for nothing. However,  I would be happy to advise when I can and help her get the right answers when I couldn't.

Haven't heard from her since...

There are some.  They just choose to remain in the background.

And the others?   Are they upset that they cannot be model managers?

Being a manager gives you that warm, special, fuzzy feeling that your neglectful parents never gave you.

A lot of times, especially in my case on that other site, when it comes to "managers" thats what a lot of us do. There are some models I have worked with, and some I have not yet who have me set up as their omp manager. We all make it very clear that I am just an advisor to the models and I help them with their referrals and help them check the photographers out and such. I make no decision on who they work with or anything like that. I actually wish OMP had a different term instead of manager as the only choice.
