I hate to sound like I'm wimping out on this, but I agree 150% with the old saying, "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush."

To me the choice is easy...do I hang out taking pictures of girls I don't want to fuck, and would be afraid to fuck given their backgrounds and this intense microbiological envioronment we live in...or do I hang out with my girlfriend who will fuck me whenever I want and not give me some dreaded disease?  Hot, clean, accessible girlfriend wins out every time over dipshit models.

The smart thing is to consider her feelings and give up the model photography if she doesn't want you to do it.  Don't get in stupid philosophical arguments about trust, or the slippery slope of jealousy, etc.  You'll lose.  Remember...reliable sex beats any hand.  Remember, if you play your hand wrong, your hand will be all you're playin'.

Take up some other form of photography that will allow you to work on your craft and keep your girlfriend happy.  Lend her a camera and take her out shooting with you.  Why hurt her feelings?  She's probably a nice girl who deserves better than to be hurt over some matter of principle you have about shooting so-called "models."

To the initial question - have her work with you and see how enjoyable it can be mixing with models on a professional level.  Remember, you are just dating-  this is a better time to find out you can't deal with each other's passion than aftrer "I do!".  You deserve to be happy, but if it isn't together, than it isn't meant to be.  Life is too short to give up a passion for someone else.  If you can't share, or at least tolerate these, than you need to find someone who can!

In response to Ed:
Sorry to see that you have such low esteem that sex is the only reason you could see to shoot with a model.  I have shot lots of models, both with and without my wife, and from a professional standpoint - your idea of whether or not to have sex with them has never come up.  And on a personal note, I highly recommend you quit dating your fist - apparently they wouldn't sleep with you anyway, ot you wouldn't be so bitter.

perhaps if you werent shooting images in the "style of a GWC"

and if the models (or strippers?) actually had some "fashionable designer wear clothing" on that didnt look like it was purchased in the clothing section of an erotic adult book store your G/F wouldnt be making such a big deal of your "hobby"

im just sayin

Welll just so it is on record, my girlfriend has told me she has come to terms with what I do regarding my photography and wants to keep our relationship. I really hope she realizes that this is just and only a business and nothing more. I'm sure if something changes I'll be back for more advice.

Thanks Everyone

I'm glad to see she wants to work on it, Eric. Give her a chance, help her and I hope it works out.

Well - I just asked my girlfriend how she deals with my choice of career " shooting beautiful girls " and she responded - " Shit , as long as you bring home the money , I dont care - as she laughs all evil like - and then goes on saying , and as long as I get to see all the hot girls you shoot Im all good " But my GF is Asian , so maybe I have a benefit there !

My first wife never supported anything I did except construction. She is long gone. My wife now supports me in everything I do.It was her that started modeling and I was uncertain till I got used to it she mostly does nudes and fetish.Thats just part of who she is and I accept that and support her.I started doing my own shooting and she is very supportive of it even when I shoot other nudes. She is a great assistant to have in the studio and fires up the models. The bottom line is if they cant or wont except you for who you are and what you do then move on till the right one finds you.It is far better to be single and doing what makes you happy then to be hooked up and unhappy cause you cant be who you realy are!

First boyfriend worked in porn.  He didn't have an issue with it.

Second boyfriend was a doctor.  He had major issues with it.

Third boyfriend was an artist and former photographer who had slept with many of the models he used to shoot.  He had major issues with it, which were supposedly resolved with my reassurance.

I am now single. smile
