What is going to be the next big trend?
We saw the "disco" resurgence and the "40s era" resurgence. Grunge poked its head out briefly What do you think the next big "movement" will be? Personally, I'm hoping it's early 90s SUPERMODEL era revisited. Where the women were bombshells (Claudia Schiffer GUESS? campaign anyone?). At least that's what I am gonna be pushing for. Jan 05 07 01:17 pm Link camera phone portfolios...lol Jan 05 07 01:22 pm Link Next big trend will be a resurgence of the 80's asexual look. Jan 05 07 01:24 pm Link You know I have a feeling the 80s asexual look is gonna be big as well. Along with Flock of Seagulls inspired haircuts. *le sigh* Jan 05 07 01:26 pm Link The "My Space Genre" and yes, it does has a style of it's own. Jan 05 07 01:28 pm Link hopefully STREAKING ! (the only fad where the uniform doesn't go out of style). Jan 05 07 01:30 pm Link Dawn Geary wrote: Hehe. That closing was humorous. It's becoming more and more popular, I think. No 80's, seriously, haha. Jan 05 07 03:46 pm Link safari Jan 05 07 05:51 pm Link I am going to be the next movement! Jan 05 07 05:53 pm Link I think the next big trend will be a revisit of an older trend.... Technically speaking trends circulate....I think disco or grunge is due back for a few... Jan 05 07 05:55 pm Link Mexican Polka, cuz that's what I'm rocking out to right now!! Jan 05 07 05:58 pm Link God am I out of it. When the hell did "disco" return. (Luminos, aka "disco ducked") Jan 05 07 06:02 pm Link Luminos wrote: I'm pretty sure the return of disco is somehow closely related to the avant-garde rep you get for being or pretending to be bisexual if you are female now. Jan 05 07 06:06 pm Link Large format, B&W, Hurrell-style, Hollywood glamour portrait photography, but with contemporary themes. I made that up. I have no idea. -D Jan 05 07 06:16 pm Link swimwear inspired by vacation locales? *shameless, i know* Jan 05 07 06:18 pm Link I could see the B&W CK look (i.e. Christy Turlington) make a comeback... Jan 05 07 06:25 pm Link Dawn, like your work why don't you set the next trend. Just tell everyone this is the new thing, they will feel odd and won't admit they didn't know that and the trend you set will be on it's way! PS it does work! Jan 06 07 04:13 am Link One word. Derelicte. Jan 06 07 06:19 am Link Pinup/Burlesque is definitely having a bit of a renaissance right now, which I think is awesome Jan 06 07 06:34 am Link Bouffant hair from the 50s. Very big at Oscar de La Renta. Jan 06 07 07:24 am Link spring 07 I see jacki O inspired 60's style kind of mixed up with a modern rockabilly glam for a twist. The accessories are big news. Jan 06 07 07:38 am Link Dawn Geary wrote: I'm with you. Those models had signature walks and personalities on the runway unlike today's models. All of the ones today walk the same. They'll never let it happen though because the models got too 'big'. They became celebrities with fees to match. I predict the return of the supermodels to magazine covers instead of all of the actresses! Jan 06 07 07:46 am Link Whatever it is, hardly anyone will actually go with it. There are a LOT of people out there who just don't give a damn. And, they want their pix done, too. Jan 06 07 10:46 am Link Sorry to bust everyone's bubble, but "fat" is going to be the next big thing. America is such a bunch of blimpoids that the marketing guys are staying up all night trying to figure how to spin it so that dewlaps are divine. That pounds are powerful. That cellulite is erotic. .. I could go on... but you get the point. Jan 06 07 10:54 am Link Marcus J.
