Im sure there is/has been a thread on this already, if so feel free to re-direct me...

What are some of the most over used/over rated poses and props out there, in your opinion?

not shooting something because it it 'cliche' is bs, when you were in school did you refuse to do your homework because someone else did the same problem a year before you?

cliches are great, you do the same shot as someone else, see what the difference is, figure out why your shot is different, and learn

Girl in bikini on the beach. But otherwise, if you like it, who cares? Shoot it.

I agree with this...if you like it, shoot it. On the other hand, a model working on a professional level might want some creative and unique material in their port. Having a good port is about being noticed, and being noticed is about doing work that pulls the viewer in.

Very well said.  https://bestsmileys.com/thumbs/5.gif That, by the way, is SUPPOSED to be a thumb up smiley, but I guess to some it may look like something else.....

Lots of shots are "overused".... but as others have said, "if you like it... shoot it"

But, make it your own and bring your style into it whether you be a model or photographer.  Own the shot.

The problem arises when you put lots of models and photographers together in one spot and think that every single shot will be different than the other.

I'm tired of the "implied" topless with hands or arms coincidently covering, holding the models breasts. Very Overused. Be creative people!
