I know some models who do a lot of paid lingerie work. Quite a few shoots are done by studios, so I know this isn't all for just personal portfolios. At the same time, the rates can be awfully high. But what are most these shots used for? Are they for online sites, local print, web dating service content, or something else? They're just lingerie, so I assume it's not for adult content but the pay is so high that it must be for something, no?

Limits are personal. Who you shoot with is personal. This is a business that is over run with people who don't know how to properly conduct business.

I mean, I mainly shoot and post art, but paying for those corsets and latex is expensive so if someone wants to pay me to shoot me in a thong then more power to them. I take the money and laugh all the way to the corsetier and my next good shoot:-)

What is any shoot for that doesn't end up as an ad or hanging on a gallery wall?

Of course that's what they do. If any girls are stupid enough to think otherwise then they are, well, stupid! I like to think that if my pictures can help a few guys get off, I've done a public service.

a) If the models have a problem with that beforehand, they can negotiate before signing the model release. b) Who cares what people do with pictures of people in the privacy of their own home? And that's a lot of assumption on your part too. Maybe thats the genre he wants to be in, and since photography takes a bit of practice, maybe he's practicing to get to the skill level he'd like to be? Most of my art modelling has been on a tfp basis but it's done with people I know and they tell me when it's published or exhibited...which is always exciting for me. When I get paid for images, in general I never see them and I don't ask where they are going...I guess I feel like I'm being paid for them to do as they like with them. I know that's just me...I'm weird...lol:-)

wow... when I grow up I wanna be just like you... get paid next to nothing to shoot someone nude... On second thought I dont want to be broke, I think I will pay my models and make my money back (and then some) doing my own thing. Doug Vosler wrote: People pay me to shoot them nude too.

I know that's just me...I'm weird...lol:-) oodles of agreement.. I work with several that send me a disk of a few images but I don't always see the finish work from photographers who hire me for certain projects.. Sometimes the projects are cool too... drat... But I'm not getting paid in prints so I have no recourse to demand prints so I try not to think about it...Heck I've gotten screwed out of print payments before. grrrrr If I'm getting paid in cash I do the best job I can and accept cash as payment and not the images.. Just the same if I hire a model for a project Heck I hired one last month for a client shoot and we never used the images on the print version of the catalouge, they may be used in the future but she got the pay and no tearsheet because the images didn't make the cut..So she won't be getting a terarsheet.. Just pay.
