If you do not mind a suggestion, I think if you were to recreate this shot you should consider turning your head just a tad bit to your left (photo right). That would move your had so that it does not cover your face so much and it will allow more of your eyes to show and would shift your eyes so that less white is showing. All that said, I love the photo.
