July 05, 2008 7:47am What is so phenomenal about this picture is that it's sexy and romantic. There's nothing vulgar about it. The viewer is an honest participant in the relationship with the models instead of a voyeur. The uniformity of skin tones between the models and use of negative space also throws the focus to the eyes, which is reinforced by the lines for the fingers as they point to her eyes and the diagonal line of the his shoulder which leads the eye to the his face. Even though his face is in the strong position in the picture, the hand placement forces the viewer to begin viewing in the traditionally weak position in the photo (bottom) and then the eye is lead to the strong position, which makes the eyes even more explosive. This is a powerful picture.
