February 26, 2010 7:39am Indeed people are free to say what they feel/think. Some people are free to erect an obscenely large public monument to their personal beliefs. Others are free to reframe that monument through their personal beliefs. Bad Religion tribute aside, if some Christians are personally offended by this photo, I can relate, since I'm offended by seeing that giant cross every time I look at the Hollywood hills. But hey, that's the free world we live in. Let's all deal with it.
February 26, 2010 5:18am At first glance, this did bother me since I'm born again Christian, but after reading your title of the piece, I can see more of the logic behind making it. I'm glad it's more about your take on a rock band than a slam on a specific religion. It's amazing, though, looking at the comments below how few people even get the notion that "Bad Religion" is actually a rock band! Do I like seeing put downs of what the symbol of the cross is (intentional or not)? No, but people are free to say what they feel. But with such statements (intentional or not) comes the statements of reciprocation.Regards,David
January 24, 2010 3:33am Alright, it's a deal. You find me a 50-foot tall Star & Crescent that overlooks all of Los Angeles and I'll be right there.
Not that it matters, since the photo was actually done as a tribute to the "Crossbuster" logo of Bad Religion, one of my favorite LA-based bands... not merely to antagonize insecure Christians.
