This is exceptional, you did capture what you said about the model and his partner. Excellent work.

I love the overall effect. The use of DOF, with the hand being softer, keeps the attention on the face, the subject. Great!

for me it's the unusual cropping that catches the attention....nice!

I agree with all the comments above. I feel the emotion.

Some reason I love ths pic bec makes me wondering about man. What he thinks or what he sees or what he feels. ... Nice job! :)

I also think this is a great photo. Did you try upping the ISO a bit to allow you to stop down and get a bit better depth of field in the available light? You could also isolate the ring in a PS layer and highlight it.

Kem, I know the ring is a bit indistinct - the lighting wasn't bright enough to allow me to get good depth of field... but I still like the effect, though

At first I didn't see the ring because the face draws one more into the picture. Great work.

Thank you Jeffrey and Nkosi for your lovely comments... The model was talking about his partner so animatedly and it was so obvious, the love was right there on the surface, so when I was doing this close-up, I saw his ring and made sure to include it... It is one of my favourite shots because it captured something I felt truly represented the model... I'm glad you like it...
