This photo was taken on 7/22/17 on the abandoned and collapsing lattice through truss rail bridge (built in 1879) on C&NW RR over Fox River in Carpentersville during an active flood.
I found this location and the resulting devastation of the area to be all at once captivating because of the life that sprung from the boards beneath my feet from a once active man-made structure and also tragic to witness the destruction of people's homes in the wake of the flood.
