Now that you've gotten the "blurred around the edges" thing down, move on to another idea. I've been collaging my photos lately since the series collage give the viewer a better understanding of your goal as a photog and it gives you greater versatility in shooting since you don't have to get the entire idea in one shot. Try searching new york photogs for ideas and try them yourself. imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
