February 15, 2010 1:12pm Great natural studio shot. The lighting is awesome-though I would have added a bit more contrast in post-processing.
Your pose does not read as believable since your upper body is straight on the viewer needs a reason to buy such a confrontational or masculine stance-such as a rejection of femininity or as a confrontation with strength of the black woman that you are!!!! Also, you should remain aware of your hands to keep them feminine for the same reasons as above (Though both of these could have worked if your expressions all spoke to this theme). Also, commit to a pose if you want to put an angle out there, make it an angle to rival all other angles throughout the whole fashion history-really.
Now as for what draws me to this shot. I love the natural beauty of black women and for me this seemed to move in that direction. I would have loved to loose the necklace and tone down the makeup. But in all I am satisfied but to look.
