July 18, 2009 7:32am In most countries the word PhotoGraph comes from mixing two words, Photon and Graphus, Light Drawing or Light Painting, so everything is about creating a depth with lights, highlights and diffused highlights and shadows, but, in Japanese the word photograph its said Shashin, witch has no relationship with light or paint, Shashin's meaning is to Capture the Reality, not the reality of how many pimples someone has in their face, but the image they have in their heart of them. Seeing deeper in a model's self image, the understanding of light passes by into a real meaning for the image to be taken. Thank you for your comment.
