November 30, 2007 9:53am Beautiful, beautiful shot. It refers back to the work of Weston and even Man Ray... I love the way the central theme of curves repeats and reinforces through the whole image. The circular holes emphasize the shape of the hips and butt, and even the roundness of her shoulders. I like that the framing is open enough to capture the skylight with that additional punctuation of light. This would be a very different image if we couldn't read the texture of the wall in the circular windows, or if that small bunch of cloth weren't in the lower left. I also like that the line of the corner isn't perfectly vertical. The sense of space is extremely strong in this photo. Most of all, I like the sense of quiet and calm that this photo exudes.
