Peter Allemano - MAN OVERBOARD: Inspired by and created to honor two sturdy ancestors of mine who nearly perished at sea: (1) a castaway of the Spanish Armada who survived shipwreck and was taken in by a family on the remote Scottish island of Yell (1588), where he spent the rest of his life; his descendents emigrated to America in 1900; (2) Pilgrim John Howland, who was swept off the MAYFLOWER during a storm (1620) but succeeded in getting back on board and eventually settled in Plymouth.
