-Light Junkie Tribute

sooc
singal exposure

specs --this shot was one of those aha moments when i had found the light bulb and so wanted to incorporate it into the shot ------i thought of a bunch of ways and trying to figure out how to hold it and light it --so i made this little mini handle out of duct tape and stuck it to the end of the light bulb so that would let me have the light bulb a bit more in the air up from my hand ---now it was about trying the right way to light tat light bulb to make it look super bright so i knew if i cupped my hands holding the flash and i could create a snoot and control how much light i let out and the direction it will be hitting the light bulb ---so after a few test and some different positioning i got the look i was hoping for -----now that was done and figured out i knew i had to add something more to the scene to fill that frame and add to the tribute --but man i was stoked on how that light bulb was coming out --- so i thought if i could do a light burst above as me looking at the light it would look rad --so i tryed that and that on its own is hard to get right and for the last part i knew i had to write "Light Junkie in there --and writing that with a little mini flashlight backwards(so the camera can see the word ) --man that was hard to get the position right ------so now it was just a matter of doing all these steps in order and hoping each one came out right -- thats the hardest part of light painting --is getting all the parts to come out just how you want them cause every photo is a one shot deal

-----sb-800 is in my hand and gelled yellow at 1/20th power and fired at start of exposure via nikons cls then i did the light burst and finished up with hand writing the word light Junkie all done in under 30 seconds
