November 07, 2011 7:26pm Aside from all the technical fastidiousness of all your work, this particular composition has a fascinating subtext. If this model were to have a different hair-style, it would be another composition completely. The subtext and story-line live in both the perfection and the subtle "imperfection" in her hair. I call it an imperfection only because it is an obvious line separating the two parts of the models hair/top of her head. There is an extreme cut across the top of the hairstyle that reminds me at once of a beanie, a screwed-off skull top, and a puzzle in the form of an autumnal sunset. This "imperfection" this delineation that separates one part of her head from the other is utterly fascinating. It makes me think of Frankenstein, but at the same time, it's so subtle that one couldn't even really notice unless one was really looking. The subtext about what goes unseen, unheard, and unsaid all the time in our lives lures me in further to the picture, and I see the eyes, rounded in blue, as is the periphery of the negative space. Skies may be blue and shining, but all is not right here, and that is incredibly fascinating when not a hair is out of place on the model's head. Wonderful work. Thoughtful and understated (unlike my post, lol)...
