March 24, 2011 12:35am Any beginner photographer can make a black and white image, but to make one like this, requires artistic talent. Artistic talent....that's what it takes to get a pose like this, angular composition like this, and the interesting range of light from light to dark. The artistic talent is what provides the nice, symmetrical, darkened corners that add interest while directing the viewer's attention to the lighter tones of the model.
Getting an image like this also requires a high degree of post-processing talent.
Any beginner can make a black and white image, but it won't look like this.
